  • Publication number: 20230021245
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and a targeted temperature management (TTM) pad to facilitate thermal energy transfer between TTM fluid and a patient. The TTM pad includes a pad portion for placement on the patient and a fluid delivery conduit. The fluid delivery conduit can include a delivery conduit connector at a proximal end thereof and a fluid return conduit extending away from the pad portion. The fluid return conduit can include a return conduit connector at a proximal end thereof, and a connector coupled to a distal end of each of the fluid delivery conduit and the fluid return conduit. The connector can include a membrane configured to cover openings of both of the fluid delivery conduit and the fluid return conduit or includes multiple membranes, wherein the one or more membranes can include a piercing corresponding to each of the fluid delivery conduit and the fluid return conduit.

  • Publication number: 20230000668
Abstract: A targeted temperature management (TTM) system includes a TTM module configured to provide a TTM fluid and a pad configured to facilitate thermal energy transfer between the TTM fluid and a patient. The system includes a fluid delivery line (FDL) with a hub at the distal end of the FDL. The pad includes a connector including a flapper valve configured to alternate between open and closed positions based on whether the connector is coupled with the FDL hub. The flapper valve in the closed position covers openings of each of the fluid delivery conduit and fluid return conduit when the connector is uncoupled from the FDL hub. The flapper valve is configured to deform into the open position upon coupling of the connector and the FDL hub thereby establishing fluid communication therebetween.
