  • Patent number: 8559028
Abstract: A multifunction apparatus includes: an image forming section having (i) a normal operation mode and (ii) a waiting mode which is lower in power consumption than the normal operation mode, between which a mode of the mode switching target member is switchable; a second web server section for acquiring a command generated based on an external application; and a control application section for determining whether or not the command thus acquired is a specific command to execute a preprocess which is a process related to a specific function that causes the image forming section to operate and which is carried out before the specific function is executed, and for, if the control application section determines that the command thus acquired is a specific command, starting a warm-up for switching the image forming section from the waiting mode to the normal operation mode.

  • Patent number: 8146809
Abstract: In order to provide an authentication system and a terminal capable of saving user's trouble and allowing quick and accurate determination as to whether the user is a registered user or not, a data processing device capable of data communication with a plurality of image forming apparatuses decides an IC card standard used by an IC card reader connected to each image forming apparatus, and transmits a signal notifying the standard to the image forming apparatus having a corresponding identification ID. Based on the IC card standard decided by the data processing device, the image forming apparatus sets the IC card standard used by the IC card reader and determines whether or not the user is a registered user.

  • Publication number: 20110029878
Abstract: A multi-functional peripheral receives at a time of logging in initial screen information managed by the authentication server relating it with login information used for the user authentication processing. A display controlling portion displays a screen corresponding to the initial screen information as an initial screen after login. The display controlling portion, in the case of detecting that the initial screen information is information indicating a screen relating to a function of an application and a function of the application is changed in the application server, displays an alternative screen giving a notification that the function of the application is changed, as the initial screen after login.

  • Publication number: 20090051966
Abstract: In a client PC, a print object permitted to be printed is specified for each MFP among the created distribution materials, a correspondence table between the object and an ID for identifying an MFP permitted to print the object is prepared, and the distribution materials and the correspondence table are transmitted to a print server. When the MFP transmits a print request and an ID assigned to the MFP to the print server, the print server transmits to the MFP a print object corresponding to the transmitted ID upon receiving the print request. The MFP receives and outputs the object.
