Abstract: An approach is disclosed for automated detection of employee career pathways extracted from historical records which includes profile transitions and a tracked history. The historical data is filtered to identify standardized pathways and individual pathways. The identified standardized pathways and individual pathways are analytically analyzed based on frequency and occurrence to generate one or more career pathways where the generated career pathways include one or more promotions and lateral moves. The generated career pathways are written to a database.
