    Abstract: A system for protecting a thermopile temperature sensor can include a water activity meter including the thermopile temperature sensor, a substrate of the water activity meter having a cavity, with the thermopile temperature sensor disposed in the cavity, and a sensor cover shielding the thermopile temperature sensor. The sensor cover is attached to the substrate to seal the cavity while permitting electromagnetic radiation through the sensor cover to the thermopile temperature sensor.
