  • Patent number: 8957852
Abstract: Techniques, systems and computer program products are disclosed for providing sensor mapping. In one aspect, a method includes receiving input from a user. The received input includes at least one of motion, force and contact. In addition, a sensor signal is generated based on the received input. From a choice of data structures a data structure associated with a selected application having one or more functions is identified. The data structure indicates a relationship between the generated sensor signal and the one or more functions of the selected application. The generated sensor signal is selectively mapped into a control signal for controlling the one or more functions of the selected application by using the identified data structure.

  • Publication number: 20090248332
Abstract: Maximizing battery life includes identifying a characteristic curve for a voltage regulating component. A raw voltage value of a battery associated with the voltage regulating component or power converting component is detected. A mathematical model is generated based on the identified characteristic curve. In addition, a value of a regulated voltage output of the voltage regulating component or a converted voltage output of the power converting component is predicted by using the generated mathematical model to convert the detected raw voltage value of the battery.

  • Publication number: 20080167806
Abstract: A system and method of automatically providing a local map on a wireless handheld device based on a vehicle location in response to a triggering signal enables a user to immediately access the local map by generating an activating signal, such as one generated from the press of a button on the wireless handheld device, to assist the user in finding her final destination or to later access the local map to find her vehicle. The triggering signal may be in response to the user manually or remotely turning off the vehicle's ignition or locking the vehicle. Once the triggering signal is received, the location of the vehicle and local map information associated with the vehicle's location can be automatically stored on the user's wireless handheld device. The local map information forms the basis for the local map.

  • Publication number: 20080062120
Abstract: A multi-range location tracking system for tracking a location of one or more objects, such as people, pets, or things, has one or more GPS-enabled accessory devices, with each accessory device being coupled to a corresponding one of the objects and being configured to generate location data of the corresponding object. The location tracking system also has a wireless link and one or more base units configured to communicate location data directly with the one or more accessory devices through the wireless link.
