  • Patent number: 12446330
Abstract: The present teachings relate to a photovoltaic packaging comprising a polymer back layer, photovoltaic cells electrically connected to each other, a polymer front layer which is transparent to light, and which is configured to be connected to the polymer back layer by means of welding, wherein the photovoltaic cells are located between the front and back layer, the front and back layer being connected to each other by means of a welded connection, such that the photovoltaic cells is completely enclosed between the front layer and the back layer by the welded connection, surrounding the photovoltaic cells, and wherein each individual cell is separated from the remaining of the photovoltaic cells by the welded connection. The present teachings also relate to a method of manufacturing, and to a solar panel.

  • Publication number: 20080176990
Abstract: A thermoplastic composition comprises about 10 to about 85 wt. % of a polycarbonate resin; about 1 to about 40 wt. % of an impact modifier composition; and about 1 to about 50 wt. % of an impact-modified alkyl(meth)acrylate polymer; each based on the total combined weight of the thermoplastic composition, exclusive of any filler. The compositions have improved weld line strength, and are useful in the manufacture of molded parts, especially for electronic devices.

  • Patent number: 7365125
Abstract: A thermoplastic composition, comprising: about 10 to about 84 wt. % of a polycarbonate resin; about 0.5 to about 40 wt. % of a polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer; 1 to about 40 wt. % of an impact modifier composition; and about 1 to about 50 wt. % of an alkyl (meth)acrylate polymer; each based on the total combined weight of the thermoplastic composition, exclusive of any filler. In another embodiment, the thermoplastic composition may comprise about 10 to about 85 wt. % of a polycarbonate resin; about 1 to about 40 wt. % of an impact modifier composition; and about 1 to about 50 wt. % of an impact-modified alkyl (meth)acrylate polymer; each based on the total combined weight of the thermoplastic composition, exclusive of any filler. The compositions have improved weld line strength, and are useful in the manufacture of molded parts, especially for electronic devices.
