The widget platform includes a plurality of widget templates, a plurality of widget code portions, wherein at least a portion of the code portions are available for placement into ones of the plurality of widget templates, a search engine, wherein the search engine locates, responsive to a request, ones of the plurality of widget code portions, and a publisher, wherein the publisher publishes, responsive to a publication instruction, at least one widget prepared in accordance with at least one of the plurality of widget templates.
