  • Patent number: 10495063
Abstract: A vertical axis wind turbine having a platform and a roof forming a housing for a vertical axis rotor and a stator. Stator vanes extend between the platform and the roof. The stator vanes and guiding surfaces on the platform and the roof define inlets and airflow paths for guiding wind into the inner chamber of the housing, where the wind powers a vertical axis rotor that is rotatably supported on the platform. The stator vanes are segmented with the trailing edges dynamically adjusting the diameter of the inner chamber in response to changing wind and rotor speed conditions. A shaft extending from the rotor can be connected to a generator connected to a power grid. The roof can support a solar panel connected to the power grid.

  • Publication number: 20120254066
Abstract: The system and methods disclosed herein are directed to valuing, comparing, and projecting mortgage loan portfolios based on residential real estate. The disclosed system enables portfolio managers to efficiently and accurately evaluate mortgage loan portfolios based on residential real estate. In one embodiment, a user can run detailed scenarios and then review comprehensive results of scenario runs using interactive tabs. The user can modify scenarios, assumptions, and individual parameters on the fly. The system provides aggregated information about a selected portfolio, as well as loan level information, from the same application.

  • Patent number: 4218610
Abstract: A system is provided for the automatic measurement of red and white blood cell counts and other blood parameters. The system includes hydraulic apparatus for the aspiration of a blood sample and the proper measurement of the parameters thereof. During operation, the system directs an operator at each step of the procedure, allowing only permitted functions to be performed, thereby decreasing the opportunity for operator error. Each blood cell count is performed twice and the answers compared, an indication of instrument malfunction being presented to the operator if the measurements do not agree within a predetermined percentage. The system monitors itself to detect malfunctions which may occur and alerts the operator to the occurrence of a malfunction.

  • Patent number: 3944791
Abstract: Circuitry for the correction of error occasioned during the counting of platelets in a hematology system. A coincidence corrected platelet count is provided as an input to a rate counter which provides a plurality of output signals representative of different percentages of the input count. A read-only memory is employed to store data representing correction factors for different hematocrit values. Gating circuitry is enabled by output signals from the read-only memory representing a selected hematocrit correction factor, the enabled gate circuits providing pulses representative of selected percentages of the input count and which are combined to provide an output pulse train which is the corrected platelet count.
