It consists of a soap storage reservoir, main body containing control valves that intersects and connects directly to a conventional shower pipe and shower head. It mixes an adjustable amount of liquid soap with air into the flowing water. Its improved main valve, through incorporation of a truncated cone, provides greater vacuum and water flow to make it compatible with a wider range of water pressure and soap density and viscosity. The improved main valve also provides the capability for the user to clean out water passages of the dispenser without disassembly or removing any parts.

    Abstract: A wound dressing garment includes an outer structure layer formed of a pliable material and an interior lining formed of a self-adhesive gel material which serves as a dressing for directly contacting wounds such as burns on a patient. The structure layer provides the overall shape of the garment as well as a framework for supporting the gel layer. The structure layer has at least two edge portions that are securable (i.e., either permanently secured or detachably securable) to each other to provide a partial enclosure suitable for enveloping a portion of the body. The structure layer can include one or more layers of material and can be made of one or more of a variety of materials, such as fabric or elastomeric materials. The self-adhesive, sheet-like gel layer serves as an interior lining of the garment, such that gel layer presents an interior surface for directly contacting the skin of the patient.

    Abstract: A perspiration shield takes the form of a multi-layered sheet that is shaped and sized to be placed between adjacent or opposing skin surfaces, such as under the breast, to prevent and absorb perspiration. The multi-layered sheet has an absorbent layer forming one surface of the shield and a silicone gel layer forming another surface of the shield. The silicone gel layer has a soft, tacky texture and readily adheres to the skin but leaves no perceptible residue on the skin when removed. The silicone gel layer closes the pores of the skin with which the layer is in contact, thereby reducing or preventing perspiration from these pores. The absorbent layer absorbs perspiration from the pores of the skin adjacent and opposing the skin surface to which the silicon gel layer is attached and is formed of a material that readily absorbs moisture.

    Abstract: A temperature controlled cabinet system and method enables medical items associated with particular temperature ranges to be stored and maintained within their associated temperature ranges in cabinets disposed within ambulances and other medical vehicles. The system includes a temperature sensor for measuring the cabinet interior temperature, a controller assembly for controlling system operation and two heat pumps disposed in the cabinet walls to heat or cool the cabinet interior. Alternatively, a single heat pump may be utilized to heat or cool the cabinet interior. The controller assembly includes a control console for displaying the actual cabinet temperature and entering a desired temperature range into the system. The heat pumps include a pair of heat sinks disposed about a thermoelectric device (e.g., a Peltier chip) that heats one heat sink, while cooling the other heat sink based on voltage polarity or current flow direction applied to the device.

    Abstract: A cabinet structure is specially adapted for receiving a plurality of IV fluid bags. When IV bags are placed inside this cabinet structure, the user turns on a power switch to begin a very specific and controlled heating cycle. A temperature indicator on the front of the cabinet allows the user to ascertain when the desired temperature has been reached. When an IV bag is desired for use, it is removed directly from the side of the cabinet through an opening approximately the size of the IV bag. A temperature sensor inside the bag compartment allows for automatic regulation of the temperature of a pad of heating filaments located along the back face of the inside the cabinet. The heating elements are covered by a rubber layer to protect the bags from melting. The cabinet structure can be fastened to any IV pole, hung on the side of an anesthesia cart or be mounted directly to a wall.

    Abstract: An improved design for a soap dispenser for use with liquid soaps, primarily in showers, has a unique multi-position valve, and separate mixing and air entraining controls. Liquid soap stored in a reservoir is drawn into a flowing water stream by siphonic action. The amount of soap/air mixture is regulated by a mixture valve. Air in controllable proportions is added by an air entrainment valve. The proportion of air with respect to the soap is adjustable. Simultaneous control of the amount of soap/air mixed with the flowing water stream is controlled by a unique mixture valve geometry.
