  • Patent number: 6103327
Abstract: An anti-graffiti cover stock for vinyl face stocks which comprises a film selected from the group consisting of polyolefins and polyvinyl fluoride and a polyester based polyurethane adhesive coated on one surface of the film to form a cover stock. The cover stock is characterized in that when it is adhered to a vinyl substrate to form a laminate, the laminate meets the flex characteristics of ASTM D 2907-95.

  • Patent number: 5939342
Abstract: A laminated product which comprises a base material such as a moldable felt base material, bonded to a facing material, such as an expanded vinyl. A heat activatable adhesive is used and the materials are bonded under pressure.

  • Patent number: 4859540
Abstract: Chlorinated polyolefins or other halogen containing products alone or in admixture with one another, are coated as primers on a solid or foamed polyolefin surface. The composition or chemical structure of the primer or primer blend is a significant aspect of the invention to achieve the most desirable results. The primed surface is irradiated and an adhesive bonded to the primer. The irradiated primer is more securely fastened to both the polyolefin surface and adhesive.

  • Patent number: 4778724
Abstract: A polyolefin primer is coated on and bonded to a polyolefin surface. The primer is irradiated and an adhesive is bonded to the primer. The irradiated surface significantly enhances the final bonding between the polyolefin and the adhesive.

  • Patent number: 4321307
Abstract: A novel process for improving adhesion of polymeric bodies to paint coatings and substrates carrying paint coatings having the improved adhesion capability. Essentially the process involves the step of irradiating a paint coating comprising a synthetic polymer and where the coalesced residue of the paint coating has a critical surface tension of wetting of at least about 35 dynes per centimeter or less. In the preferred embodiment of the invention the paint coating is irradiated in the presence of a radiation sensitizer to increase the critical surface tension of wetting of the irradiated paint coat to about 40 dynes per centimeter or more.
