  • Patent number: 9895735
Abstract: A method and a device are provided for joining the ends of strips with two or more surfaces arranged flat on top of each other, more particularly metal sheets that can be coiled, in order to draw these successively through a treatment or machining system. It is provided that the strip ends are joined by means of a plurality of eyelets arranged essentially transversally to the strip direction, wherein initially all holes are simultaneously punched in a first stroke and then all eyelets are pressed in a second stroke. The device has a clamping device and a machining unit, which has a working tool with a plurality of punching and pressing tools, wherein the working tool and a die are displaceable by the distance between two neighboring individual tools and wherein above the punching and pressing tools, a pressing device is provided.

  • Patent number: 5122073
Abstract: A connector for enabling a user to selectively couple one of at least a first printhead having a connection member or a second printhead having a set of connection members to a circuit. The circuit comprises first contact means for connecting the first printhead to the circuit and second contact means for connecting the second printhead to the circuit. The connector comprises a body having a first slot for receiving the connection member. The body further comprises a second slot and a third slot for receiving the set of connection members. A first plurality of male conductors is associated with the first slot in order to couple the first printhead to the first contact means of the circuit when the connection member is inserted into the first slot. A second plurality of male conductors is associated with the second and third slots in order to couple the second printhead to the second contact means of the circuit when the set of connection members are inserted into the second and third slots, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5044797
Abstract: A device for connecting a toothed timing belt to a printhead carriage includes an arcuate member and a pair of posts extending downwardly from the carriage. The arcuate member includes a generally concave surface and a generally convex surface which is complementary to the toothed configuration of the timing belt. The posts are provided with angled surfaces located adjacent to the convex surface of the arcuate member to define passageways into which the belt is placed. Ledges at the lower ends of the posts prevent unintended slippage of the belt from the device when the belt is not under tension.

  • Patent number: 4898487
Abstract: A print head is secured to a print head carriage and movable along guide rails in printing operation. The carriage includes bearings engaging the guide rails which are secured to the frame of the printer. The print head carriage is made of conductive material to enable bonding of the print head through the carriage and the bearings and along the guide rails to the ground potential of the printer.

  • Patent number: 4867590
Abstract: A dot matrix print head has a heat sink substantially surrounding the head for dissipating heat therefrom. A print head carriage includes a pivot or bearing assembly on one side of the print head and includes a bail type clamp pivoted on the carriage on the other side of the print head. The arrangement allows the heat sink to swing from a covered print head operating position to an uncovered position for servicing or for removing the print head.

  • Patent number: 4632577
Abstract: A mechanism for compensating for different thicknesses of record media at a printing station utilizes a platen supporting or carrying assembly which is pivotable to move the platen toward the print head. Another supporting assembly, also pivotable, is provided to carry a record media drive roller and is interconnected with the platen supporting assembly by means of a pin and slot arrangement to effect a substantially equal gap at the platen-print head and at the pressure roller-drive roller. A first cam member is rotated to engage with and to swing the platen supporting assembly into printing position and a second cam member is connected with the first cam member and rotated thereby to maintain the assembly in printing position.
