  • Publication number: 20180029131
Abstract: A titanium alloy composition that includes, other than impurities, about 7.0 to about 9.0 percent by weight vanadium (V), about 3.0 to about 4.5 percent by weight aluminum (Al), about 0.8 to about 1.5 percent by weight iron (Fe), about 0.14 to about 0.22 percent by weight oxygen (O), optionally about 0.8 to about 2.4 percent by weight chromium (Cr), and the balance titanium.

  • Patent number: 5745834
Abstract: A method of free form fabrication of metallic components, typically using computer aided design data, comprises selective laser binding and transient liquid sintering of blended powders. The powder blend includes a base metal alloy, a lower melting temperature alloy, and a polymer binder that constitutes approximately 5-15% of the total blend. A preform part is built up, layer-by-layer, by localized laser melting of the polymer constituent, which rapidly resolidifies to bind the metal particles. The binder is eliminated from the preform part by heating in a vacuum furnace at low atmospheric pressure. The preform part may require support during elimination of the polymer binder and subsequent densification by controlled heat treatment. Densification is performed at a temperature above the melting point of the lower temperature alloy but below the melting point of the base metal alloy to produce transient liquid sintering of the part to near full density with desired shape and dimensional tolerances.

  • Patent number: 4572656
Abstract: Backlit messages guide the operator through the process of making duplex copies in either a simplex to duplex or duplex to duplex mode. The queing or sequence of the messages will adapt to the order of operator activity or performance to instruct the operator on the next operation to be performed. Once certain operations are performed, some backlit messages are turned off. In particular the messages instruct the operator to determine if specific paper trays are empty, to suitably load a recirculating document handler, to remove copies from one tray and place in a second tray, and to reposition documents in the document handler.

  • Patent number: 4329046
Abstract: A reproduction machine provides a single output catch tray for operating in stacks, unstapled sets, stapled sets modes. In the various modes of operation, the reproduction machine will temporarily halt upon the output catch tray reaching predetermined capacities depending upon the mode of operation. However, upon emptying the contents of the output tray, the machine will resume operation until the completion of the requirement or until the job in process is cancelled.

  • Patent number: 4300829
Abstract: A multitask button, cascade illumination control panel is provided. In one embodiment, successive keying of a single reduction button sequences the system to a 98% reduction, 76% reduction, and 65% reduction, respectively, back to 1-1 reduction. The stepping of the illumination lamps indicating each reduction mode occurs immediately. However, there is a deferred movement of the lens. In other words, there will be delayed response to offset any needless dithering of the machine before the appropriate lens movement is made.

  • Patent number: 4149487
Abstract: A reproduction machine for producing copies incorporating a control for varying, infinitely over a given range copy shading. The control operates to change the fixed bias potential applied to the magnetic brush type developing rolls by providing through a variable voltage circuit, varying biasing potentials.
