Publication number: 20240123140Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed wherein temperature in a device such as an ambulatory infusion pump is monitored during inductive charging of the device such that temperature-sensitive contents or components, such as, for example, insulin, particular circuitry and/or other components are not damaged. Temperature can be monitored in the device at one or more locations during inductive charging. If the temperature breaches one or more predetermined thresholds and/or is rising at a rate greater than one or more predetermined thresholds, charging can be suspended or provided at reduced power to prevent the temperature from further rising and damaging the contents and/or components of the device. One or more alerts associated with these events may also be triggered so that the user is aware of the situation and may take corrective action.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Inventors: Caleb Butler, Robert Eastridge, Michael Michaud, Philip S. Publication number: 20230125261Abstract: A cooling system for a battery pack in a vehicle comprises a base plate, a plurality of transverse members, a pump, a controller, and a heat exchanger. The controller causes the pump to generate fluid flow into an inlet/outlet port of the base plate. The base plate comprises a channel with segments for supplying fluid to a first set of fluid distribution ports and receiving fluid from a second set of fluid distribution ports. Each fluid distribution port is in fluid communication with a main conduit of a transverse member and transverse conduits connect the main conduits of a transverse member. Fluid flow through the channel in the base plate and the main conduits and transverse conduits of the transverse members cool the batteries and distribute heat. Cooling multiple sides of the batteries reduces the operating temperature to reduce charging times and extend the service life of the batteries.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2021Publication date: April 27, 2023Inventors: Geethanjali Gadamchetty, Hemal Mamtora, Robert Butler, Brian Schoolcraft, Kyle Lawrence Torrico

Patent number: 11013375Abstract: A foaming component for use in a foaming liquid dispenser, and an insert arranged so that it may be inserted into a liquid dispenser comprising the foaming component. The foaming component comprises a liquid chamber; an air chamber; a sparging component, which comprises a sparging interface and a foaming region; an exit aperture; and a pumping mechanism. The pumping mechanism is arranged such that it can transfer liquid from the liquid chamber directly to the foaming region, and air from the air chamber to the foaming region, via the sparging interface. The forcing of air through the sparging interface causes bubbles to form in the liquid located in the foaming region, resulting in a foamed mixture for dispensing. The pumping mechanism is then used to transfer the foamed mixture from the sparging component through the exit aperture, wherein the sparging interface is arranged such that at least a portion of the foaming region is positioned in between opposing surfaces of the sparging interface.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2016Date of Patent: May 25, 2021Assignee: DEB IP LIMITEDInventors: Stewart Banks, Dean Limbert, Chris Lang, Jack Kidd, Robert Butler

Publication number: 20200308672Abstract: An improved sterling silver alloy. Like all sterlings, the improved alloy is at least 92.5 percent silver by weight. It has less copper than traditional sterlings: 3.0 percent versus the traditional 7.5 percent. Additionally, the improved alloy includes about 2.75 percent palladium, about 1.0 percent tin, and about 0.75 percent zinc, all by weight. A grain refiner, such as ruthenium, may also be provided. The components of the preferred alloy are melted, degassed, remelted, and then formed into casting grains, wire, and etc. The resulting alloy is significantly harder, as cast, than traditional sterlings: 95-120 Vickers versus 65 Vickers for traditional sterlings. The improved alloy also exhibits improved corrosion resistance. Other than a slightly higher (<200° F.) liquidus temperature, the improved alloy may be worked in substantially the same manner as traditional sterlings. Pieces cast from the improved alloy may be age hardened to about 160 Vickers, if desired.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2020Publication date: October 1, 2020Applicant: STULLER, INC.Inventor: JOHN ROBERT BUTLER
