Patent number: 4418915Abstract: A puzzle is shown having a stack of hollow segments that are joined together so that each segment is adapted to be turned about a longitudinal axis of the stack. Each hollow segment has certain side walls that include a hole formed therein, and some of the hollow segments have either top and/or bottom walls with one or more holes formed therein. All of the holes in the side walls are visible at all times, while the holes in either the top or the bottom walls of the hollow segments are generally only visible when adjacent segments are arranged out of alignment with each other. This puzzle is furnished with a separate flexible connection that is adapted to be threaded through certain of the holes, but only one time therethrough. The START hole is unknown to the first time prolem solver. Only such holes as are visible from the exterior of the puzzle need be furnished with the flexible connection threaded therethrough.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 1982Date of Patent: December 6, 1983Inventor: Robert A.
