  • Patent number: 4868462
Abstract: A high voltage transformer assembly for use in a high frequency medical X-ray generator comprises a plurality of transformers, a plurality of filter capacitors, and a pair of capacitor printed circuit boards for mounting the capacitors and for coupling the capacitors in electrical circuit to define a plurality of relatively high power handling capacitance circuits. A plurality of diodes are provided, and diode printed circuit boards mount the diodes and couple the diodes in electrical circuit to define a plurality of relatively high power handling diode circuit elements. A frame, and top and bottom plate-like members, and other joining structure join together the frame and the top and bottom plate-like members, and the capacitor printed circuit boards to form an enclosure wherein the top and bottom plate-like members and the capacitor printed circuit boards comprise four sides of a generally rectilinear, six-sided enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4851983
Abstract: A high voltage power supply circuit for a high frequency medical X-ray generator comprises a high voltage transformer having a primary and a secondary and an inverter circuit responsive to predetermined control input signals for producing corresponding inverter output signals. A responant circuit is coupled with the inverter circuit and is resonsive to the inverter output signals for producing corresponding voltage pulses for energizing the primary of the high voltage transformer. The resonant circuit includes a capacitive component and an inductive component, the latter being provided by the primary of the high voltage transformer coupled in series circuit with the inverter circuit and with the capacitive component. A KVP regulator circuit provides the control input signals for the inverter circuit in the form of a series of KV firing pulses.

  • Patent number: 4831642
Abstract: A MAS regulating system for high frequency medical X-ray generator produces a control signal to stop the exposure when the milliamp-seconds delivered by the X-ray tube becomes equal to or greater than a desired maximum amount set by an operator. The system comprises a converter circuit for converting a signal corresponding to a desired MAS value set in by the operator into a first digital signal having a predetermined format. A digital integrator circuit integrates and converts the actual MA current in the X-ray tube to a digital MAS signal corresponding to the actual MAS value of the current in the X-ray tube and in the same predetermined format as the first digital signal. A comparing circuit compares the first and second digital signals and produces a control signal to stop the exposure when the second digital signal is greater than the first digital signal.
