  • Patent number: 8453563
Abstract: A method and apparatus for placing an item of food into a cooking vessel capable of quickly achieving an effective frying temperature after placement into the hot cooking oil of a deep fryer is disclosed. The vessel includes a food containment area where food is placed in intimate contact with an interior wall of the vessel. Using a rack, the vessel is submerged into the oil to an effective depth such that the food item containment area remains below the surface of the cooking oil in the deep fryer while a vent of the cooking vessel remains above the cooking oil surface. Heat is substantially instantaneously transferred from the oil through the cooking vessel to the food item contained therein, causing the food to fry. Steam emitted from the food during cooking escapes through the vent.

  • Patent number: 7581152
Abstract: A method for a fault free store data path in a software implementation of redundant multithreading environments is described. In one embodiment, after a check is performed by a hardware/software checker, the processor still needs to ensure that the data just checked reaches protected memory without any faults. The present implementation provides sufficient redundant information along the path of a store from register read to commit, such that it may detect any single bit upset error in the path.

  • Publication number: 20080295706
Abstract: A method and apparatus for placing a food item into a cooking vessel fabricated from a material with an effective heat transfer rate that will cause the temperature of the interior vessel wall to achieve effective frying temperature substantially instantaneously after placement into hot cooking oil. The vessel is effectively dimensioned so that it can be placed into the hot oil of the deep fryer while a vent remains above the top surface of the oil. A food item is inserted into the cooking vessel to fit snuggly into a food containment area of the vessel such that it intimately contacts the interior vessel walls. Using a rack, the vessel is lowered into the deep fryer's hot oil to an effective depth such that the food item containment area is below the surface of the oil while the vent remains above the top level of the hot oil.

  • Publication number: 20070044613
Abstract: The present invention is an improved rotary cutting device for continuously cutting a web of material, such as paper, cardboard, plastic sheet, steel sheet, aluminum foil, etc. In particular, the present invention relates to a rotary cutter assembly for continuously cutting a web of material to predetermined lengths with cut lines that are essentially perpendicular to the feed direction of the web. A knife rotor is provided with its axis of rotation being perpendicular to the feed direction of the web to be cut. A straight knife is embedded in a straight slot on the knife rotor with a straight blade protruding radially from the surface of the rotor. The blade is positioned at an angle to the axis of rotation of the knife rotor. A stationary round bar is provided next to the knife rotor and cooperates with the knife rotor to cut the web passed therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20070006167
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention includes a method for receiving a command to insert instrumentation code into a code segment, analyzing the code segment to determine an optimal location for the instrumentation code within the code segment, and inserting the instrumentation code at the optimal location to generate an instrumented code segment. The instrumented code segment may then be executed and may provide for improved performance over unoptimized instrumented code. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20060277371
Abstract: In some embodiments, the invention involves instrumentation of computer binary code and, more specifically, dynamically identifying shared memory accesses at runtime and instrumenting the shared memory access instruction code. Some embodiments use code caching to only hold the patched instrumentation. Other embodiments use code caching to hold the entire program and instrumentation. Shared memory accesses are identified using inaccessible memory address references to cause memory faults. The fault handler may emulate instrumentation in one instance and cause a just-in-time compilation of instruction traces with instrumentation into the code cache. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20060031032
Abstract: Method for deskewing sampled data includes acquiring data samples from a first location in a first channel according to a first set of data collection parameters, performing a validity analysis of the acquired data samples, and in response to the occurrence of a trigger condition, halting the acquisition of new data samples from the first location, adjusting at least one of the first set of parameters and initiating the acquisition of data samples from a second location in the first channel. An interactive completion signal subsequent to data acquisition provides selection of optimal sampling points in the first channel for further data collection.

  • Publication number: 20060031031
Abstract: Method for processing eye diagram data from a system under test includes mapping channels of a logic analyzer for eye diagram data signal acquisition to DSO inputs, acquiring signals from the channels, determining if there are additional channels for signal acquisition and in response to the completion of acquisition signals, automatically mapping the additional channels to the DSO inputs and acquiring data signals from the additional channels. The steps are repeated until all selected channels are analyzed. An apparatus includes means for selecting a first plurality of channels for eye diagram signal acquisition and mapping the first plurality of channels to DSO inputs, means for acquiring a first plurality of signals from the first plurality of channels, means for sending a completion of acquisition signal and means for automatically mapping a second plurality of channels for eye diagram signal acquisition to the DSO inputs in response to the completion of acquisition signal.
