  • Patent number: 8888509
Abstract: An electrical connector and method assembling the same. A device may comprise a connector frame, a flexible printed circuit board connected to the connector frame, a filter mounted to the flexible printed circuit board; and at least one terminal mounted to the flexible printed circuit board and in electrical communication with the filter. A method to assemble an electrical connector may comprise: providing a flexible printed circuit board having two conductive pads and a filter in electrical communication with the two conductive pads; connecting each conductive pad to a corresponding terminal; inserting each terminal into corresponding holders in a connector frame; placing the flexible printed circuit board in a curved pathway of the connector frame to form a connector subassembly; and inserting the connector subassembly into a connector housing. The filter may have three electrical connections, two are connected to the terminals and one is connected to ground.

  • Patent number: 5375651
Abstract: A draft inducer blower motor mounting and cooling construction comprising an electric motor including a housing having openings therein and a rotor mounted on a shaft, a fan blade fixed on the shaft and interposed between the motor and the draft inducer blower, and a heat shield interposed between the motor housing and the fan blade. The heat shield is fastened to the electric motor and to the housing of the inducer blower and has portions spaced from the blower housing. The heat shield further preferably includes a portion surrounding at least a part of the motor housing such that rotation of the fan blade draws cooling air through the electrical motor and about the housing of the electric motor and thereafter radially outwardly between the heat shield and the inducer blower housing to cool the electric motor and the shaft end bearing nearest the inducer housing. In another form, the portion surrounding the motor may be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4877984
Abstract: An electric motor and pump mounting bracket assembly comprising an electric motor and a bracket fastened to the motor for supporting a pump which is driven by the shaft of the electric motor. The electric motor comprises a cylindrical shell which encircles the stator of the motor and a pair of end members engage surfaces on the shell which are accurately positioned longitudinally of the shell relative to one another and relative to the axis of the shell. The end members rotatably support a shaft in concentric relation to the shell. The pump mounting bracket includes a planar surface that is accurately located parallel to and a predetermined accurate distance from the centerline of the shell to form the mounting surface for the pump. The bracket further includes an opening through which the connecting link to the shaft of the motor extends. The accurate surfaces on shell are in predetermined longitudinally spaced relation to the centerline of the opening in the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4505031
Abstract: The method of assembling an electric motor which comprises forming an upper housing assembly by first forming a generally cylindrical shell, forming an end member with an axial tube, mounting the end member on the cylindrical shell with the tube extending axially inwardly, locating the shell radially in an accurate position with respect to the axis of the shell, fastening the end member to the shell to form an upper housing assembly, mounting a radial wall on a hollow shaft, accurately locating a stator on the radial wall so that the stator and the outer diameter of the shaft are in accurate concentric relationship, fixing the stator in this accurate position to form a lower housing assembly, telescoping the upper assembly over the shaft of the lower housing assembly and interposing bearings between the shaft and the tube so that the upper housing assembly is in accurate concentric relationship with the stator.

  • Patent number: 4441042
Abstract: An electric motor comprising a motor frame comprising a generally cylindrical shell encircling a stator, and a pair of end members mounted on the ends of the shell rotatably supporting a rotor. The shell has at least one circumferentially extending slot spaced from an edge of the shell and a notch and edge aligned with the slot. A spring nut has one end thereof hooked into the slot and extending along the outer surface of the shell. The spring extends radially inwardly through the notch in underlying relationship to an end member associated with the end of the shell. The end member has an opening therethrough and the spring nut has a threaded opening aligned with the opening in said end member. A stud has a threaded end and an enlarged shoulder portion and the threaded end extends through the opening in the end member and is threaded into the opening of the spring nut to hold the stud in position on the end member.
