  • Publication number: 20180119364
Abstract: Transportation matting for traversing soft ground surfaces, such as beaches and muddy roads, is provided. The matting is thin, rollable, and lightweight (in some embodiments, about 1 lb/ft2) and has a convoluted configuration with alternating peaks and valleys formed from mats of a fiber reinforced polymer composite material. The matting is coilable with a preload by which the matting tends to unroll and lay flat, while retaining relatively high compliance or ease of roll-up when recovered.

  • Patent number: 8499611
Abstract: A disk drive emulator for testing a test slot of a disk drive testing system includes an emulator body, an interface connecter disposed on the emulator body, and at least one vibration sensor disposed on the emulator body. The emulator body comprises a material having a tensile modulus of at least 40×10^6 Psi.

Date of Patent: August 6, 2013
    Assignee: Teradyne, Inc.
Inventors: Brian S. Merrow, Robert A. Dasilva
  • Patent number: 7926677
Abstract: A modular packaging system of containers each having a generally tubular, hollow container body of a fiber-reinforced composite material with cooperative mating interlocking elements extending axially along its length. The interlocking elements allow the containers to be stacked and palletized in a stable manner. An interface between a closure mechanism and the container body provides a good seal and prevents fraying or brooming of the fiber-reinforced composite material at the end face of the body.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 24, 2009
Date of Patent: April 19, 2011
    Assignee: Kazak Composites, Incorporated
Inventors: Robert A. DaSilva, Jerome P. Fanucci

  • Patent number: 7213530
Abstract: A hatch or door system for closing an opening in a surrounding structure has a panel assembly having a metal frame enclosing a composite material panel. An operating mechanism is operative in a first stage to hold the panel assembly in the closed position. In a second stage, a discrete-to-continuous latching mechanism of the operating mechanism seals the frame within the opening.
