    Abstract: A power monitor includes a power conditioning circuit that provides conditioned power to a load. The power conditioning circuit includes at least one sensor to measure a power quality characteristic, e.g., input voltage, load current, temperature, etc. A terminal device implements a diagnostic tool for the power monitor and includes a processor to obtain data indicative of the power quality characteristic over a communication link with the power monitor. The data may be retrieved in response to a trigger condition. A user interface implemented on the terminal device displays the obtained power quality characteristic as at least one temporally varying waveform.

    Abstract: A supply voltage monitor includes a switch circuit that enables coupling of an AC power supply to a load. A control circuit switches the switch circuit from a non-conductive state to a conductive state, and vice-versa, based upon a state of a state machine implemented by the control circuit, and further reports anomalies in process variables, such as voltage and current levels, temperature, etc., based on the state of the state machine. The transition criteria that is met to compel a transition in state is selectable by a user by way of a user interface. The transition criteria may correspond to different power levels that define a range over which the power is considered nominal and a range over which the power is considered to be an anomaly. The transition criteria additionally define what type of anomalies are reported without a change in the conductivity of the switch circuit.

    Abstract: To protect an electrical load from anomalous electricity provided by an electricity source, a switching mechanism is configured to transition into one of conducting and non-conducting states in response to respective on and off states of a switching signal. A power controller evaluates input frequency characteristics of an overvoltage event in input electricity provided by the electricity source against at least one frequency criterion. Event timing is established for the timing signal that corresponds to the frequency characteristics met by the frequency threshold criterion. The event timing coordinates the overvoltage event with the state transitions of the switching mechanism so that an amplitude notch is superimposed on the input electricity over a temporal duration proportionate to that of the overvoltage event. State transitions are compelled in the switching mechanism to superimpose the amplitude notch on the input electricity in accordance with the event timing.

    Abstract: A plurality of controllers, each coupled to a plurality of outlets, compare values assigned to characteristic parameters or “process variables” against at least one control value on the process variable. The values for the process variables are derived from at least one signal provided to corresponding controllers. At least one of the outlets at each controller is configured to selectively provide an electrical voltage from an input voltage in accordance with the comparison of the process variable values and the control value. Remotely accessible controls may be stored at the controllers which may be retrieved through respective network interfaces at the controllers. A remote processor may use the retrieved controls to remotely specify, such as over a communication network, the control values.

A control circuit switches the switch circuit from a non-conductive state to a conductive state when a supply voltage signal is between first overvoltage and undervoltage thresholds. The control circuit records an overvoltage event and maintains the switch circuit in the conductive state when the supply voltage signal exceeds a second, higher overvoltage threshold and switches the switch circuit to a nonconductive state when the supply voltage signal exceeds a third, highest overvoltage threshold. The control circuit records an undervoltage event and maintains the switch circuit in the conductive state when the supply voltage signal falls below a second, lower under-voltage threshold and switches the switch circuit to the non-conductive state when the supply voltage signal falls below a third, lowest undervoltage threshold.

    Abstract: Method and apparatuses for measuring and regulating the strain of a material web is disclosed. A material web is passed through a first and second non-slip roller pair. The first and second roller pair form a predefined span. In some embodiments, the angular positions of the first and second roller pair are monitored, and the phase angle between the roller pairs is calculated. The phase angle is directly related to the level of strain in the web, and the velocity of the web is controlled to maintain a phase angle which corresponds with the desired strain level. This maintains a constant strain level in the predefined span. In one embodiment, the strain entering a non-slip roll pair is controlled to be zero. The roll pair then introduces a predefined strain to the span entering subsequent processes.
