Abstract: An interface unit and a printed circuit board configuration includes at least two interface units for linking conventional commercially available packages of integrated circuits on a printed circuit board in a more flexible and compact way, which allows compact high-performance electronic circuits to be produced on a small surface area and with low development expenditure.

Abstract: A dynamic semiconductor memory and a method for operating such a memory includes memory banks with memory cells disposed in rows, and registers associated with the memory banks for storing an address of an open, activated word line. In the event of an external refresh command, a control device causes, after the refresh operation, the state of the memory banks to be reestablished, in particular, the word line whose address was stored in the register to be reactivated. Such a purely on-chip measure increases the operating speed of the memory.

Abstract: A housing for a medicinal pump, which is sealed to prevent damage due to exposure of the housing to water or other liquids. The housing includes an extruded case in which the various components comprising the pump are enclosed. The ends of the extruded case are sealed by a top cap and a bottom cap that are overnolded with an elastomeric material. The elastomeric material seals the top and bottom caps against the extruded case and provides shock resistance to protect the pump from damage. An open side of the pump is sealed with a pump chassis that supports a pump cassette used to infuse medicinal fluids into a patient. A bezel assembly on the front surface of the pump is adhesively attached thereto using a double-sided adhesive sheet. The double sided adhesive sheet seals the openings for a display and a keypad formed in the front surface of the extruded case.

Abstract: A cover for a battery compartment in a medical device such as an ambulatory pump that is used for infusing a medicinal fluid. The battery compartment cover includes a lever that is pivotal between an open and a closed position. The lever is connected to a plunger that applies a compressive force against an O-ring, which is trapped between a shoulder on a washer through which the plunger extends and an end of the plunger. When the lever is pivoted to its open position, the compressive force on the O-ring is released, enabling the battery compartment cover to be removed from the opening into the battery compartment. However, when the lever is pivoted to its closed position, it draws the plunger outwardly, applying a compressive force to the O-ring that causes the O-ring to expand radially outward, sealing the opening into the battery compartment against the intrusion of water or other liquids and securing the battery compartment cover in engagement with the opening.

The pumping cassette includes an elastomeric member mounted in a rigid body having an inlet and an outlet. An inlet valve and an outlet valve on the cassette are opened, and the flow control is positioned to allow the medicinal fluid to flow freely through the cassette, priming it before the outlet is connected to the patient. The cassette is then coupled to an associated pump driver, closing the flow control to disable free fluid flow through the cassette, and the outlet to the cassette is coupled in fluid communication with the patient's body.

Abstract: A locking device of the type having a lock cylinder containing a lock plug with a threaded rod connected thereto in a manner causing rotation of the rod with rotation of the lock plug by a key operating the tumbler includes a relatively massive cylindrical lock housing having a bore extending axially therethrough, the lock cylinder being fastened against rotational and axial movements relative to the lock housing, and a relatively massive cylindrical sleeve member with a blind bore therein and a screw threaded surface arrangement in a portion of the blind bore for threadingly engaging the threaded rod. In accordance with a first embodiment, relative rotation between the lock housing and the sleeve member is prevented by a counterbore in an open end of the blind bore of the sleeve member of non-circular transverse cross section and a portion of the exterior of the lock housing of reduced circumference, non-circular transverse cross section that is at least partially receivable in the counterbore.
