Abstract: An auto-injector for dispensing a predetermined dose of medicament is disclosed. The auto-injector includes a needle cover operative to engage an injection site. The needle cover is configured to move from a retracted position prior to a medicament dispensing operation to an extended locked position after the medicament dispensing operation. Any residual activation force remaining after the medicament dispensing operation is contained within the auto-injector and is not directed to the needle cover, thus attenuating, if not eliminating, any kickback effect.

Abstract: A reduced egg product produced by supercritical fluid extraction comprising egg yolk from a whole egg that has a portion of undesired components, such as cholesterol and triglycerides (including saturated fats), selectively removed from the natural egg yolk while the beneficial components, such as phosphotipids, are selectively retained and while the consumer-desired flavor, texture, and/or functionality of the egg yolk is retained. A method for producing the reduced egg product comprises at least one of separating, drying, and extracting and optionally reconstituting. The continuous drying method produces dried egg yolk with a honeycomb type structure or small particle with low densities allowing for effective extraction and reconstitution. Furthermore, the reconstituting method is efficient and the pasteurizing method is capable of pasteurizing triglyceride and fat reduced egg yolk and triglyceride and fat reduced whole egg.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of modifying a plant phenotype by transforming a plant to alter the level of expression of non-symbiotic plant hemoglobin in the plant, whereby the transformed plant exhibits, under normal oxygen conditions, a plant phenotype that is modified as compared to a non-transformed plant. Plants exhibiting modified phenotypes under normal oxygen conditions also are provided. Methods of modifying the response to a plant hormone in a plant also are provided.

Abstract: Coating compositions comprising a pigment and starch dispersion of discrete crosslinked starch particles in an aqueous liquid. The dispersion may be used as coating color for paper. A preferred process of preparing the dispersion of starch particles comprises (a) obtaining a mixture of starch and an aqueous liquid; (b) processing the mixture using shear forces in the presence of a crosslinker in an extruder; and (c) injecting a hydroxylic liquid into the extruder and dispersing the mixture inside the extruder or outside the extruder or both inside and outside the extruder to obtain the dispersion.

Such designated market makers create a virtual guarantee order book for each permissioned order sending firm. If an order sending firm sends a directed order to the market center that is marketable against a virtual guarantee order, then the market center automatically pairs the orders in a two-sided directed cross order instruction, which executes against any superior trading interest in the marketplace first before crossing.

Abstract: A device is disclosed for detecting a voltage potential from a tissue membrane. The device includes an input circuit, an output circuit and a digital signal processor. The input circuit receives a membrane voltage potential from an electrode. The output circuit receives an output command signal and provides a current output signal to the electrode. The digital signal processor is coupled to the input circuit and the output circuit. The digital signal processor provides the output command signal, and waits a delay period prior to receiving the membrane voltage signal from the input circuit.

They can be used as a wet-end additive or in surface coating. The disclosed auction also executes concurrently, but separately from the regular continuous matching process.
