Abstract: A method of managing the configuration, design parameters, and functionality of an integrated circuit (IC) design using a hardware description language (HDL). Instructions can be added, subtracted, or generated by the designer interactively during the design process, and customized HDL descriptions of the IC design are generated through the use of scripts based on the user-edited instruction set and inputs. The customized HDL description can then be used as the basis for generating “makefiles” for purposes of simulation and/or logic level synthesis. The method further affords the ability to generate an HDL model of a complete device, such as a microprocessor or DSP. A computer program implementing the aforementioned method and a hardware system for running the computer program are also disclosed.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of providing a reactive digital personal assistant. A reactive digital assistant is a digital assistant that is capable of having a reaction. For instance, the reaction may be provided visually and/or audibly. The reaction may be specified by personal assistant logic on a device that provides the digital personal assistant, by an application on the device that communicates with the personal assistant logic, or by a Web service with which the application communicates. The personal assistant logic may retrieve media representation(s) that correspond to the reaction from a store on the device, or the application may retrieve the media representation(s) from the Web service. The personal assistant logic may notify the application of a status of the digital personal assistant once the media representation(s) are retrieved.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are provided that enable users to provide explicit declarations that are used to generate recommendations for the users. An explicit declaration is received from a user of a user device. The explicit declaration is configured to influence a subsequent recommendation. The words of the explicit declaration are processed to generate a record. A recommendation rule is generated based on the generated record. The recommendation rule is executed to generate a recommendation for the user. The generated recommendation is provided to the user.

In those instances where descriptive text accompanies the program listing, apparatus of the invention performs a search of the text for a particular text string which may relate to the title, the star, the director, or the context of the program, among other search criteria.

The user may have the option to activate or deactivate specific activities associated with a badge, or to add additional activities in exchange for providing information about the user. A system may use the badges to initiate activities for the user. The specific choice of activities to be initiated may depend on context, where the context may include the device that is being used, where the user is located, whether the user is traveling, etc.

Abstract: A computer implemented method and a mobile processing device provide reminder data in association with contact information for a known entity. A notification may be provided when communication occurs which is associated with a known entity. Communications may take the form of a phone call, an SMS message, an email, or a third-party application providing communication services. Any detectable communication in a personal computing device may trigger a reminder based on a known entity. Reminder notifications can be triggered on inbound communications and outbound communications.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are provided that address issues related to data privacy by enabling users to elect various levels of data sharing. A user of a user device is enabled to indicate their comfort level with sharing, transmitting, or otherwise exposing individual activity records (data entities) with respect to various activity categories. The exposure of activity records may be controlled with respect to on-device and off-device components. Furthermore, privacy profiles may be automatically generated for the user, and the privacy profiles may be automatically activated in corresponding situations.

Abstract: A microprocessor architecture having extendible logic. One or more customized applications are available to the instruction pipeline. The customizable applications may include software, extension logic instruction or register, dynamically configurable hardware logic, or combinations of these. When a specific extension is requested a software exception is generated by the OS. Abstract: A cooler bypass valve apparatus installed the apparatus between a heat exchanger and conduits coupled to a device carrying fluid that needs to be cooled. A housing includes an inlet port and first and second outlet ports. At least one thermal actuator and at least one valve are mounted in a fluid flow passageway in the housing and operative in response to the fluid temperature to move the at least one valve between operative positions opening and closing fluid flow from the inlet port through the first and second outlet ports between a heat exchanger bypass loop and a heat exchanger cooling loop. In another aspect, two thermal actuators control a separate valve associated with the first and second outlets between open and closed positions enabling fluid flow from the inlet port exclusively through one of the first and second outlet ports or in a combined partial flow through both of the first and second outlet ports.
