  • Publication number: 20180025396
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems and methods for identifying tax amounts in transactions for association with transaction records. A user may conduct a transaction and receive a receipt for the transaction. The user may use an application running on a portable communication device to view transaction information for their account and select a transaction associated with the receipt. The mobile communication device may identify a total transaction amount and a tax amount for the transaction based on an image of the receipt. The mobile communication device may transmit these amounts to an issuer computer that may associate the tax amount with a record of the transaction. As such, the issuer computer can maintain the tax amounts for the transactions of the user.

  • Patent number: 9855720
Abstract: A laminar assembly including a first optically opaque layer defining a plurality of through-holes, a second optically opaque layer, an optically transparent inner layer between the inner surface of the first optically opaque layer and the inner surface of the second optically opaque layer, and a preprinted layer proximate the outer surface of at least one of the first and second optically opaque layers. The plurality of through-holes is at least partially filled with material from the optically transparent inner layer, and light is visibly transmitted in a single direction through the plurality of through-holes. Unidirectional opacity watermarks defined by the plurality of through-holes in the laminar assembly provide advantageous anti-counterfeiting measures, and are easy to view and authenticate, yet difficult to simulate.

  • Publication number: 20170366346
Abstract: Computer networks for secure demand-driven file distribution are described. In one example, a client device receives a notification to check in for updates. In response, the client device checks in with a device services computing device on a computer network. The device services computing device determines a path list to certain cache computing devices on the computer network for receipt of the files, builds a markup file including the path list to the files, and transmits the markup file to the client device. The markup file can also include unique identifiers of the files and an encryption key for secure distribution of the files. Using the markup file, the client device can request the files, and the computer network is physically and logically arranged to distribute the files among the cache computing devices and to the client device in a secure and demand-driven manner.

  • Publication number: 20170170561
Abstract: A spacecraft communications payload includes a beam forming network (BFN), wherein the BFN includes a first feed waveguide and a first set of branch waveguides, each branch waveguide in the first set operating in a frequency band having a characteristic waveguide wavelength ?g1. A proximal portion of the first set of branch waveguides is communicatively coupled with the first feed waveguide. A distal portion of the first set of branch waveguides is communicatively coupled by way of an array of slots with a plurality of radiating elements. A separation distance between adjacent slots in the array is approximately equal to ?g, and the array of slots is configured as a honeycomb-like triaxial lattice. In some implementations, a compact BFN may be configured to simultaneously operate at two different polarizations (“dual-polarized”) and/or frequency bands (“dual-band”).

  • Patent number: 9614851
Abstract: Accessing a security enabled application may require certain access privileges that are not readily available or associated with the application at the time a user is seeking access via a login operation. In operation, an access attempt to a security enabled application may include identifying user credentials associated with the access attempt, generating a query based on the user credentials to identify whether the user credentials are associated with a predetermined group membership. A response to the query may be received that includes group information corresponding to the user and the group information may be compared to a set of predetermined rules to determine whether the group information includes privilege rules used to grant access to the access attempt.

  • Publication number: 20170061269
Abstract: A card with a magnetic stripe and increased durability is described. A protective lamina or coating may be disposed on a card with a magnetic stripe to protect the magnetic stripe embedded into the card from scratches, fractures, or chemical damage. An adhesive in the protective lamina is compatible with a material composition of the magnetic stripe such that the bond established onto the card surface is also accomplished with the magnetic stripe. The magnetic stripe has high coercivity and is overlaminated. The overlamination is performed across the entire rear side of the card. Accordingly, stress lines in cards with magnetic stripes can be avoided thereby significantly reducing cracking and fractures in cards.

  • Patent number: 9515973
Abstract: A system, method, and program for the processing of large amounts of email based on user-configurable criteria in close to real-time. The invention enables filtering of all journaled emails in an organization for the duration of a regulatory proceeding, or for audit purposes, thus greatly reducing the manual effort required to produce a targeted set of emails. The journaling feature copies all unique emails coming through the distributed email server farm to a smaller set of email mailboxes. The filtering application could run as a batch operation on each of those “journaling” mailboxes at periodic intervals or could run interactively. The user-defined filter criteria are applied to the emails filling up the “journaling” mailboxes, and matches are separated from the non-matches for analysis. The invention can be executed on offline data, such as personal message stores or individual compound message files.
