    Abstract: An improved non-portable cleaning system for performing water-based extraction and related cleaning operations is provided. A system in accordance with the invention is particularly useful for cleaning the carpeting and upholstery of vehicle interiors and can be operated with relative ease by ordinary consumers. In certain implementations, the system can be coin operated. Defoamer chemical can be automatically dispersed into a recovery tank of the system, thereby reducing foaming in the recovery tank. The recovery tank can be automatically rinsed and drained after cleaning operations are completed without requiring additional interaction by the consumer. A vending machine can be optionally provided with the system, allowing consumers to purchase cleaning supplies incident to performing cleaning operations with the system.

    Abstract: A multi-stage compressor assembly including an arrangement for controlling the oil level having first and second capillary tubes. First capillary tube connects between the second stage high pressure housing at a level above the normal oil sump level to the first stage low pressure housing. The second capillary tube connects from the first stage housing at a point above the normal sump level to a point on the second stage suction tube. The oil level is automatically self compensating by the location of the capillary tube inlets and by differential housing pressure urging oil migration through the capillary tubes.

    Abstract: A compressor assembly including a crankshaft with an axial oil passageway therein. An oil pump booster is mounted on the crankshaft to increase the oil flow rate through the axial oil passage. The oil pump booster includes a counterweight and an enclosed channel extending in the radial direction communicating with the axial passageway of the crankshaft. During rotation of the compressor crankshaft, the radial oil channel is likewise rotated creating a centrifugal force or reduced pressure area to increase the oil flow through the axial passage.

    Abstract: A connecting rod having lubricating passages therein for cooling the piston assembly of a compressor. A central lubricating passage provides fluid communication between the crankshaft end portion and piston end portion of the connecting rod. The central lubricating passage conducts lubricant on the wrist pin, thus directly lubricating the wrist pin. The connecting rod also includes a plurality of branched passages branching from the central lubricating passage and extending through the piston end portion closely adjacent the wrist pin. Each of the branched passages is oriented to spray lubricant on the inner surface of the piston. Thus, the branched passages indirectly cool the wrist pin by drawing heat away from it and directly cool the piston by spraying lubricant thereon.

    Abstract: The present invention is an improved lubrication system for a connecting rod, wrist pin, and piston of a compressor. An oil pump pumps lubricating oil upwardly within an axial bore of the crankshaft, which includes a radial passageway in alignment with the connecting rod. The connecting rod includes ports which direct pulses of oil onto the inner surfaces of the piston. The ports are separated by barrier segments to allow local oil pressure to build between the sequential alignments of the passageway and a port. Thus, pulses of oil are accurately sprayed onto the piston inner surfaces without substantially diminishing the lubrication of the journal bearings.
