  • Patent number: 7470191
Abstract: The invention relates generally to a gaming system distributed across both local (LAN) and wide (WAN) area networks that enables responsible gaming for its users. More specifically, the invention provides a system and method that requires users to register with the system and which thereafter enables the users to set time-based or money-based gaming limitations that will exclude them from the system if these limitations are realized. The system may be deployed across one or more jurisdictions, such as states, provinces, regions or countries.

  • Patent number: 7225839
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improvement for a fill valve (22) for an aerosol container (10, 30) to provide better sealing capability. The fill valve is made using a flashless injection molding process in which both the mold cavity and molding material are heated to elevated temperatures to significantly improve cross-linking which occurs during the molding process. A backside (22a) of the fill valve now has a recessed portion (56) to facilitate ejection of the valve from a mold so leak paths are not created due to the forces applied to the valve during its extraction from the mold. The recessed portion reduces the amount of material required to make the fill valve and makes the fill valve flexible to aid in providing a good seal against leakage of a propellant from the container after filling.

  • Patent number: 5620127
Abstract: A portable garment carrier with a handle portion and a garment holder portion which are connected by a central hook attachment that attaches to the garment hook on the interior of a vehicle. The handle portion folds down over the central hook attachment when it is suspended from a car hook. The garment carrier is fabricated from flexible material. The garment carrier can also be made from rigid material with a hinge mechanism to allow the handle portion to fold during use or for more convenient storage. An optional gap in the handle allows the handle to be suspended from a closet clothing rack. Alternate embodiments allow written information such as advertising messages to be displayed on the central hook attachment, folding handle grips which provide more comfortable handling, and specialized handles which can also be used to suspend the garments in a closets. The device may be fabricated as a disposable or reusable unit.

  • Patent number: 5149190
Abstract: A portable safety device for attracting visual attention, comprises an array of flashing light sources, comprising high intensity light-emitting diodes having a light output of at least 500 mcandela. The light sources are connected in series with a solid state flashing circuit and a power supply. The power supply comprises a high energy battery and current limiting means in series therewith. The current limiting means prevents the current supplied by the battery externally of the power supply from exceeding a predetermined safe value. The solid state flashing circuit is periodically switchable between a low resistance state characterized in that the voltage across the series arrangement of high intensity light-emitting diodes exceeds a threshold voltage thereof, and a high resistance state characterized in that the voltage across the series arrangement of high intensity light-emitting diodes falls below the threshold voltage.

  • Patent number: 4595083
Abstract: A disk brake actuator having a hydraulic slack-adjusting arrangement for maintaining a positive clearance between a brake shoe and a brake disk, includes a cylinder housing having disposed therein a brake-applying spring section, a hydraulic-operated release section, and an actuator piston spindle arrangement operably-connected to the spring section by way of a clutch arrangement. A flange, formed on the actuator piston, acts as a plunger during a brake application and draws a first amount of hydraulic fluid into a first storage area, such first amount corresponding in volumn to the clearance between the brake disk and brake shoe when a nonworn brake shoe is first used. Upon release of the brake, the actuator piston forces the hydraulic fluid back into a second storage area wherein is included a shuttle member movable with a shuttle chamber. Additional hydraulic fluid is drawn from a reservoir when actuator piston movement, beyond the original clearance value, occurs as a result of brake shoe wear.

  • Patent number: 4023828
Abstract: A stabilizer pad for attachment to an arm of a piece of earthmoving equipment such as a backhoe. In one embodiment the pad has a solid geometric shape such as a cube or pyramid with at least three outer surfaces, any one of which can be arranged as a ground engaging surface. The pad or the arm has a cut-out section for permitting rotation of the pad relative to the arm to at least two different positions. In another embodiment the pad is pivotally secured to the arm. In one position the pad is positioned below the arm and in the other position the pad rotates about 180.degree. with the end of the arm forming a grouser and the other side of the pad functioning to limit the penetration of the arm into the ground.

  • Patent number: 3990288
Abstract: Stretch bending or dieing mechanism including a drawing die press having apparatus for tensioning and/or stretching a workpiece, typically in sheet form, at opposite ends of a lower horizontally oriented stationary die. Prior to or in timed relation with the movement of the movable die to form a workpiece having its opposite ends secured in clamp jaws of sheet clamp units of the tensioning and/or stretching apparatus, fluid pressure actuated motors which support the sheet clamp units are actuated to lower the units to stretch and wrap the workpiece partly about the lower die. Simultaneously the units are moved in a predetermined path away from the lower die to tension and/or stretch the workpiece, as desired, by link mechanism having links of different length spaced lengthwise of the path of movement of the movable die.
