Such a system can include a target object that changes temperature, a test infrared (IR) temperature sensor that can make a first set of measurements of the temperature of the target object over a period of time, and a standard IR temperature sensor that can make a second set of measurements of the temperature of the target object over the period of time. Additionally, the system can include a calibration unit that compares the first set of measurements with the second set of measurements and determines an accuracy of the test IR temperature sensor based on the comparison.
