  • Patent number: 10633798
Abstract: Resin systems and methods for making and using same are provided. The method for making a paper product can include contacting a plurality of pulp fibers with a resin system. The resin system can include a first polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resin and a second resin that can include a second polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resin, a urea-formaldehyde resin, or a mixture thereof to produce a paper product. The first resin and the second resin can be sequentially or simultaneously contacted with the plurality of pulp fibers. The period for sequential addition between the first resin and the second resin is about 1 second to about 1 hour.

  • Publication number: 20200104800
Abstract: According to various aspects, systems and methods are provided for tracking actions performed in various disparate talent platforms, and generating ratings for parties that use the talent platforms based on the tracked actions. Some embodiments provide objective ratings of hiring and staffing parties that are automatically determined based on stored data records of tracked actions. The hiring and staffing party ratings may build transparency of activity performed by the parties within the disparate talent platforms. This in turn builds trust among users of the online system.

  • Patent number: 10128496
Abstract: A three-dimensional, porous anode material suitable for use in a lithium-ion cell. The three-dimensional, porous anode material includes active anode particles embedded within a carbon matrix. The porous structure of this novel anode material allows for the expansion and contraction of the anode without the anode delaminating or breaking apart, thus improving the life-cycle of the lithium-ion cell. An example of this three-dimensional porous anode material is a porous silicon-carbon composite formed using a bi-continuous micro-emulsion (BME) template.

  • Publication number: 20180254024
Abstract: A mute for a stringed instrument has a formed bar of metal, plastic or other suitable material, the ends of which are folded to allow the part to wrap around the outermost strings, for example, the high E and low E strings of a 6-stringed guitar, in such a way as to be held firmly in place by the tension of the strings, but allowing for quick installation and removal. The inner surface of the mute is lined with a suitable material such as rubber or felt that makes firm contact with each of the strings between the bridge saddle and the tailpiece, effectively stopping the strings between the bridge saddle and tailpiece from producing an audible sound or resonance. The mute eliminates or mitigates vibration of that portion of the strings that might otherwise be undesirably picked up, especially by a bridge pickup of a hybrid guitar.

  • Patent number: 9852251
Abstract: A system, apparatus and computer-implemented method for manipulating a parameterized cell device into a custom layout design. The method begins by receiving at least one parameterized cell representing a physical circuit from, for example, a database or configuration file. The parameterized cell has a plurality of configurable attributes. The method continues by adjusting one of the configurable attributes of the parameterized cell according to a capability associated with the one attribute. The attributes may include one or more of a parameter mapping capability, a port mapping capability, an abutment capability, a directional extension capability, a channel width capability, and a boundary layer capability. The method then calculates a new configuration for the parameterized cell based upon the adjustment, and applies the new configuration for the parameterized cell to a layout of the represented physical circuit.
