  • Publication number: 20190336272
Abstract: Methods for texturing surgical implants, for example, breast implants, are provided. The methods include applying a tacky layer onto an implant shell, creating a micrometer-scale pattern of sacrificial material on the tacky layer, and thereafter, removing the sacrificial material from the tacky layer to obtain a textured layer. Multiple textured layers can be formed on the implant shell. Further, the micrometer-scale pattern can be formed using a printing mechanism and a 3D printing technique, such as a solid freeform fabrication or a layer manufacturing technique.

  • Publication number: 20060118122
Abstract: A medical device includes a conduit for a fluid. The conduit has a wall formed of a hydrophobic polymer with a hydrophilic polymer layer extruded over it, and an antimicrobial substantially dispersed within the hydrophilic polymer. The antimicrobial compound may be a predetermined amount of phosphorus-based glass having a predetermined quantity of a metal such as silver substantially dispersed therein. The medical device may be an endotracheal tube made by providing a hydrophobic polymer, a hydrophilic polymer and an antimicrobial compound, forming the hydrophobic polymer, the hydrophilic polymer and the antimicrobial compound into a conduit, and forming a cuff on an end of the conduit.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 6457755
Abstract: A car door protecting device for preventing dents and scratches to car doors. The car door protecting device includes a panel having a first side, a second side, a top edge, a bottom edge, and a pair of side edges. The panel comprises a resiliently flexible material. A plate is attached to and extends along the bottom edge. The plate is orientated generally perpendicular to the bottom edge and generally facing the second side of the panel. The plate is positioned under a bottom portion of the door and the top edge of the panel is extended through a window of the door such that the window may be closed on the proximal portion. The panel generally covers the outer surface of the door.
