  • Publication number: 20110066955
Abstract: A system and method for managing transactions that include numerous documents and written electronic communications between a plurality of participants is disclosed. Communications and documents related to the transaction are obtained and analyzed to determine the relationships between them and the parties authorized to view each. The communications and documents are stored with the relationship data so that a participant may view authorized items in a manner that indicates the particular relationship in which the participant is interested.

  • Patent number: 7869304
Abstract: A method and apparatus for pre-inversion noise attenuation of seismic data. The method can generally comprise: (a) acquiring seismic data including receiver data corresponding to vibratory signals simultaneously generated by the multiple sources and detected by at least one of the receivers at a location remote from the sources and source data corresponding to the vibratory signals detected at a location in proximity to the sources; (b) attenuating noise present within at least a portion of the receiver data to generate corrected receiver data; and (c) inverting the corrected receiver data with the source data to separate the vibratory signals.

  • Publication number: 20100110411
Abstract: An internegative duplicate (12), as used to make motion picture release prints, undergoes marking by exposing at least one area within at least one frame to provide a decodable pattern specific to the internegative duplicate. In this way, pirated copies of content made by a rogue laboratory can be tracked.

  • Publication number: 20100070358
Abstract: A method for promoting recycling from a fund established with revenue generated from the sale of environmental and/or power generation attributes by an entity producing renewable energy. The method comprises providing a point system by which a recycling consumer is credited for recycled materials collected. Further, the method provides for a reward system for redemption of points accumulated by the recycling consumer, the reward system including redeemable fund certificates drawn against the fund. The method further includes collecting recyclable materials from the recycling consumer and crediting an account in the name of the recycling consumer based on the quantity and/or quality of the recyclable material collected. Then the method provides for awarding fund certificates to the recycling consumer upon the accumulation of a sufficient point level.

  • Patent number: 5321490
Abstract: The sensor includes a range finder having means for emitting a directional output of pulsed energy toward a fixed area, and includes a transmitter section which divides pulsed energy into divergent beams, which are then received as reflective energy in a receiver section. The receiver alternately selects between outputs of two detectors receiving reflections from the beam and provide inputs for purposes of determining time of flight, and for measuring the time interval between interceptions of the two divergent beams for a given object. The sensor also receives inputs indicating the time that each pulse is emitted and the selected outputs from the detector to indicate when returning energy is received from the corresponding pulse to determine the elapsed time between the two.

  • Patent number: 4966651
Abstract: An improved paper for printing and other uses can be made from a paper pulp that contains pulp derived from hardwoods if the pulp is refined in a refiner that has at least one abrasive surface disk. The pulp can be refined to give a vessel picks count of 2/cm.sup.2 or less and have a Freeness of less than that which can be achieved using a refiner having conventional barred disks.

  • Patent number: 4536837
Abstract: A disk file management system for use in a data processing system that includes at least one disk drive. The disk space is organized on the basis of logical cylinders, with each logical cylinder including a plurality of disk pages and a cylinder control block ("CCB"). Each entry in the CCB corresponds to a page in the CCB's cylinder. Depending on whether a page is allocated to a file or not, the corresponding CCB entry is a file map entry for a file to which the page is allocated or an entry in a free space map. For a given file, each file map entry includes up to two pointers so that the totality of page map entries for the file defines an unbalanced binary tree structure that consists of a sequence of balanced binary trees of increasing size. The free space map for a given cylinder is preferably a chained free space list.

  • Patent number: 4274065
Abstract: A closed cycle, high repetition pulsed laser having a laser flow channel with an annular flow return surrounding the laser flow channel. Ultra high vacuum components and low out-gassing materials are used in the device. An externally driven axial flow fan is used for gas recirculation. A thyratron-switched low-inductance energy storage capacitor is used to provide a transverse discharge between profiled electrodes in the laser cavity.
