  • Publication number: 20240002866
Abstract: Disclosed is a synthetic gene cluster for producing gadusol derivatives, expression vectors and host cells containing the same, methods of producing gadusol derivatives, and compositions thereof. In an example, the synthetic gene cluster includes a valA nucleotide sequence capable of expressing ValA protein; a nucleotide sequence capable of expressing methyltransferase/oxidoreductase (MT-Ox) protein; a mysC nucleotide sequence capable of expressing a MysC protein; and a mysD nucleotide sequence capable of expressing a MysD protein. In this way, gadusol derivatives can be produced in amounts sufficient for use in a variety of applications.

  • Publication number: 20230290452
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems for subphenotyping acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients by analyzing electronic health data (EHR) using a subphenotype classifier. According to their classification, different treatments can be selected which are likely to be efficacious in treating ARDS. Such methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems are useful for rapid classification and guided treatment in critical care settings, such as in hospitals.

  • Publication number: 20220344013
Abstract: A method for determining at least one of a medical diagnosis recommendation and a medical intervention recommendation for a subject. At least one of electronic health record (EHR) data and biomarker data for the subject are input into a diagnostic/intervention recommendation model that comprises parameters and a function. The parameters are identified based on a training dataset that comprises a plurality of training samples. Each training sample is associated with a retrospective subject and includes at least one of EHR data and biomarker data for the retrospective subject. The function represents a relation between the at least one of EHR data and biomarker data for the subject received as inputs to the diagnostic/intervention recommendation model, and at least one of a medical diagnosis recommendation and intervention recommendation for the subject generated as an output of the model.

  • Patent number: 10237655
Abstract: The present invention provides a portable and compact battery-powered stereo speaker assembly that incorporates a DC to DC converter, which enables power from the internal stereo speaker assembly battery to charge an interconnected hand-held device, such as a smartphone, through a USB connection, thereby extending the time that the device can be used untethered from the AC power grid. A DC to DC converter enables the charging function can be implemented even if the speaker assembly is not connected to the AC power grid, and even if the battery of the stereo speaker assembly is not fully charged. The stereo speaker assembly also incorporates Bluetooth connectivity, a proprietary open wireless technology standard, developed by Ericsson in 1994, employing frequency-hopping spread spectrum radio transmissions in the ISM band from 2400-2480 MHz.

  • Patent number: 9708540
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for pyrolysing a solid organic feed material are disclosed. Solid organic material is moved through a reaction chamber and exposed to a temperature profile within the chamber that dries and pyrolyses the organic material and releases water vapour and a volatile products gas phase. The water vapour phase and the volatile products gas phase are moved counter-current to the solid organic material so that the water vapour phase and condensable components of the volatile products gas phase condense in cooler upstream sections of the chamber and form a liquid water product and a separate liquid oil product. The liquid water product is discharged via an outlet along the length of the chamber and a dried and pyrolysed solid product is discharged from a downstream outlet in the chamber.

The liquid water product is discharged via an outlet along the length of the chamber and a dried and pyrolysed solid product is discharged from a downstream outlet in the chamber. The chamber includes a plurality of heat transfer members extending within the chamber and a supply of oxygen-containing gas for establishing and maintaining the temperature profile within the chamber.
