Abstract: A flexible check valve is introduced within a fluid path for leakage protection. The flexible check valve can be a duckbill/crossbill valve comprising multiple flexible members that restrict the flow of fluid in a tubular member. The flexible check valve is preferably used in conjunction with a drinking straw to prevent liquid from exiting a container such as a drink box. Preferably, the flexible check valve is a crossbill valve that is attached using an adapter. Liquid is designed to only flow through when an external compressive force (e.g. users fingers or lips) is applied to the valve. When force is no longer applied to the valve section, the valve returns to its normally closed position and fluid is wholly or substantially prevented from exiting.

A flexible drive shaft powers the cutting reel from the gearbox and is made from materials that do not require petroleum based lubricants to avoid the possibility of damage to the turf or grass. A single control handle located on the handle of the mower actuates both the reel and traction drives. The treatment liquid can be a solvent for oxidized indigo dye; an aqueous solution containing a desizing agent; an aquueous solution containing a reducing agent for indigo dye; a solution containing desizing and reducing agent; an aqueous solution containing a reducing agent for indigo dye; or a sequences of these liquids.

Abstract: An apparatus and process for the separation of coal from pyritic impurities using a modified froth flotation system. The froth flotation column incorporates a helical track about the inner wall of the column in a region intermediate between the top and base of the column. A standard impeller located about the central axis of the column is used to generate a centrifugal force thereby increasing the separation efficiency of coal from the pyritic particles and hydrophillic tailings.

One compression device is at least one hydraulic cylinder with a piston rod attached to the platen which performs compaction. The other compression device is at least one hydraulic cylinder with a piston rod which is attached to the platen and performs tramping. The apparatus provides rapid tramping before compaction by the selective activation of only the second compression device. Both cylinders function through a common hydraulic fluid reservoir and solenoid valve.

Abstract: An improved putter exhibiting centrifugal balance. Centrifugal balance is defined as the ability of the putter to tend to swing in a straight line, even when deliberately forced to rotate. Centrifugal balance ensures that a golfer will be provided with a club having inherent stability along the intended line of the putt. Centrifugal balance is achieved by providing the putter shaft with a calculated curved section and predetermined angle of attachment such that the straight portion of the shaft is positioned so that a line extended along the axis of the straight portion intercepts on the front face of the head. An axis that is perpendicular to this extended line at the intercept will then pass through the center of gravity of the club. The center of gravity of the head is positioned well aft of the front face of the club and achieved by having a head shape that has two substantial theoretical centers of gravity in the sole and heel portions of the head.

A plurality of steel struts are provided which extend between the furnace walls at a level at or above the top of the hopper bottom, and the furnace inlet ring header located at the bottom of the hopper, so that the unit can be bottom supported. The steam generating tubes extending upwardly out of the ring header and forming the furnace walls each contain a bend therein, so as to be flexible enough to accommodate differential thermal growth of the struts relative to the adjacent furnace walls during transient temperature occurrences.
