  • Patent number: 10467627
Abstract: A device may determine that a verification method associated with a transaction card is to be modified from a first verification method to a second verification method. The first verification method and the second verification method may use different types of verification information. The device may provide a set of instructions to the transaction card after determining that the verification method is to be modified. The set of instructions may cause the transaction card to modify the verification method from the first verification method to the second verification method. The device may provide information identifying a modification to the verification method to a transaction backend device to notify the transaction backend device that the verification method associated with the transaction card has been modified from the first verification method to the second verification method.

  • Patent number: 10453054
Abstract: A transaction card includes a near-field communication (NFC) component, a security component, a wireless component, one or more memories, and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the one or more memories. The device receives a signal from a user device attempting to access a secure application, and energizes the NFC component based on the signal received from the user device. The device causes the security component to generate an encrypted code based on the NFC component being energized, and provides, via the security component, the encrypted code to the wireless component. The device provides, via the wireless component, the encrypted code to the user device to permit the user device to utilize the encrypted code as authentication for accessing the secure application.

  • Patent number: 10418905
Abstract: A pre-bias control circuit for a switching power converter detects the slope of the output voltage over time and outputs an OPEN command when the slope detected is more NEGATIVE than a pre-defined threshold and a pre-charge current that flows back through the switching power converter has reached a maximum value. In response, the synchronous rectifier switch OPENs overriding the typical control waveform to control the energy from the output voltage from flowing back through the switching power converter. The switching power converter may be any converter that includes a synchronous rectifier, such as a flyback converter, a forward converter, a buck converter, in a single-ended, double-ended and/or multi-phased configuration.

  • Patent number: 10410206
Abstract: A transaction card may determine to initiate a mode associated with the transaction card. The mode may be related to locating the transaction card. The mode may be associated with outputting a first signal. The transaction card may determine a manner in which to configure the mode based on a set of parameters. The set of parameters may include a power level of the transaction card, or a strength of a second signal associated with a connection between the transaction card and a device associated with the transaction card. The transaction card may initiate the mode after configuring the mode. The transaction card may determine to terminate the mode based on an indication that the transaction card has been located.

The location information may have been received from the vehicle. The location information may identify a location of the vehicle and the third party location. The device may process personal information to determine that an order is associated with the vehicle or an individual associated with the vehicle. The personal information may have been received from the vehicle. The device may receive, via another device associated with the vehicle or the individual, confirmation to complete a transaction for the order. The device may perform a first action to complete the transaction. The device may perform a second action to facilitate a good or a service associated with the order to be delivered to the vehicle in association with performing the first action.

  • Publication number: 20190266169
Abstract: A system can comprise one or more processors; and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computing instructions configured to run on the one or more processors and perform: receiving a request for a write operation of an input record in a data store associated with a sharded database and an alternate-key-global-index (AKGI) database; generating a new optimistic lock value, the new optimistic lock value being unique in the sharded database; when the data store does not include a data record associated with the input record, creating the dummy data record in the data store; locking the data record for the write operation by setting the DROpLock of the data record to the new optimistic lock value; and performing the write operation of the input record in the AKGI database and the sharded database.

  • Publication number: 20190190568
Abstract: In some implementations, a near field communication (NFC) device may determine whether the NFC device is to perform a wireless transaction in a powered mode or an unpowered mode, and may selectively perform the wireless transaction in the powered mode or the unpowered mode based on determining whether the NFC device is to perform the wireless transaction in the powered mode or the unpowered mode. The wireless transaction may be performed using power from a power source internal to the NFC device when the wireless transaction is performed in the powered mode. The wireless transaction may be performed without using power from the power source internal to the NFC device when the wireless transaction is performed in the unpowered mode.

  • Publication number: 20190178105
Abstract: In a turbocharger for receiving exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and for delivering compressed air to the internal combustion engine, a backplate may include a lubricant stall protrusion, such as a rib, may be placed in recirculation or collection recesses of the backplate to stall recirculating lubricant flow and direct the lubricant into a bearing housing lubricant core and drain to reduce an amount of lubricant proximate piston rings and leaking into a compressor housing of the turbocharger. When an lubricant deflector is used, the lubricant stall protrusion stalls recirculating lubricant that is outboard of the lubricant deflector, and may have an outer protrusion edge closely matching the outboard contour of the lubricant deflector to minimize a flow gap there between.

  • Publication number: 20190132281
Abstract: A two-tier Anycast addressing hierarchy enables deterministic traffic management in an Anycast system. Different locations of the Anycast system advertise a common Anycast cover route comprising a first-tier Anycast address with a first address prefix, and different specific routes comprising a set of second-tier Anycast addresses with a second address prefix, wherein each address of the set of second-tier Anycast addresses falls within the already advertised Anycast cover route, and wherein the second prefix is larger than the first prefix. Domain Name System (DNS) operation can resolve queries to the cover route when normal Anycast operation is desired or can be modified to resolve a subset of queries to a particular second-tier address in order to shift a deterministic amount of traffic based on the resolved subset of queries to a deterministically selected Anycast system location based on the location from which the particular second-tier address is advertised.
