  • Publication number: 20160364533
Abstract: An application and method to assess and optionally support the competency of a healthcare practitioner is provided. The method comprises: (i) providing a dynamic cloud computing application including: a plurality of medical images in a medical imaging viewer and a test, both for displaying on a visual display device; and analytics for analyzing a test result; (ii) selecting by the practitioner an assessment module; (iii) reviewing by the practitioner an at least one medical image in the assessment module; (iv) completing by the practitioner the test; (v) analysing the test result; and (vi) providing a score. No applications need to be installed to utilize the dynamic cloud computing application.

  • Patent number: 7261028
Abstract: An ordnance system and method for controlling an ordnance system is provided. The system and method utilizes an addressable common, or shared, bus configured to transmit and receive data thereon. The addressable bus has further coupled thereto an ordnance controller including a control process and a telemetry process configured to control the addressable bus. The ordnance system further includes at least one initiator coupled to the addressable bus and responsive to the control process and at least one telemetry sensor coupled to the addressable bus and configured to interact with the telemetry process. The method provides control for the ordnance system by receiving telemetry data from a telemetry sensor over an addressable bus with an ordnance being further controlled by an ordnance controller over the addressable bus.

  • Patent number: 6718881
Abstract: An ordnance control and initiation system is provided. The system includes a plurality of ordnance devices which may be segregated into a plurality of sets. Each set of the ordnance devices has at least one ordnance device and further includes an ordnance device interface, which preferably includes an optical-to-electrical converter. A controller issues state commands to a master ignition control module operatively coupled to the controller, which retransmits the state commands to a plurality of slave ignition control modules. Each of the slave ignition control modules associated with one of the sets of the ordnance devices and preferably is optically coupled to each of the ordnance devices within that set. The slave ignition control modules re-transmit the state commands optically to the ordnance devices of the associated the ordnance device set of that slave ignition control module.

  • Patent number: 5441219
Abstract: A method for making a pressure tank includes procuring a metallic feed pipe (12) with a substantially cylindrical outer surface (312), a bore (21), and, at an attachment end thereof, an annular ring (350) protruding from the cylindrical outer surface. A dissolvable mandrel (410) in the shape of the desired tank or pressure vessel is made. The mandrel includes a neck portion (412, 414) dimensioned to fit within the bore of the feed pipe. If necessary, the outer surface of the mandrel is rendered electrically conductive, as for example by metal sputtering or evaporation, or by electroless deposition. A thin layer (328) of ductile metal is then electrolytically deposited over the outer surface of the mandrel, extending onto the outer surface of the feed pipe in the pipe-to-tank coupling region, closely fitting over the annular ring, to thereby form a tank liner. A composite reinforcing shell (322) is formed around the liner, and extending over the liner in the coupling region.

  • Patent number: 5427334
Abstract: A method for making a storage tank with an integral vane starts with a feed pipe. A thin, flat vane has a shape which defines an inner and outer curve extending between attachment and second ends. The outer curve of the vane is dimensioned to lie just within the inner periphery of the tank, spaced therefrom by a particular gap. The attachment end of the vane is affixed to a first part of a coupling region of the feed pipe, with the pipe axis lying in the plane of the vane. The vane-pipe combination is placed in the cavity of a mold having the desired interior shape of the tank, with the edge of the outer curve of the vane spaces away from the wall of the mold by the desired gap. A dissolvable, hardenable liquid is injected into the mold and hardened. The mold is removed, leaving a soluble mandrel in the shape of the cavity of the tank. A copper coating is applied to the mandrel and the pipe, to form a metal liner including a neck extending over the feed pipe.
