  • Patent number: 10579388
Abstract: A method for use in a processor for arbitrating between multiple processes to select wavefronts for execution on a shader core is provided. The processor includes a compute pipeline configured to issue wavefronts to the shader core for execution, a hardware queue descriptor associated with the compute pipeline, and the shader core. The shader core is configured to execute work for the compute pipeline corresponding to a first memory queue descriptor executed using data for the first memory queue descriptor that is loaded into a first hardware queue descriptor. The processor is configured to detect a context switch condition, and, responsive to the context switch condition, perform a context switch operation including loading data for a second memory queue descriptor into the first hardware queue descriptor. The shader core is configured to execute work corresponding to the second memory queue descriptor that is loaded into the first hardware queue descriptor.

  • Patent number: 10577838
Abstract: A closure panel latch assembly can include an overslam bumper mechanism comprising a biasing element as a spring formed from a metallic material positioned relative to a slot of the latch assembly. The biasing element resists entry of a striker into the slot beyond a selected position in order to inhibit contact of the striker with a bottom end of the slot. Also provided is a closure panel latch assembly configured with the biasing element as a resilient element positioned relative to the slot of the latch assembly; The biasing element is coupled to the striker engagement member, such that the striker engagement member is positioned to engage the striker and resist travel of the striker towards the bottom end, wherein the biasing element controls the resistance to movement of the striker engagement member by the striker.

  • Patent number: 10569673
Abstract: A support base for a child safety seat includes a coupling structure coupled to a shell and a latch device operable to engage with an anchor structure of a vehicle. The coupling structure includes a carrier pivotally connected with the latch device. The latch device is rotatable relative to the carrier and the shell between a storage position and multiple deployed positions for use, and the carrier is slidable relative to the shell in a first direction for displacing a distal end of the latch device outward and away from an end edge of the shell and in a second direction for displacing the distal end of the latch device toward the end edge of the shell. The support base further includes an adjustment latch movable to engage with the carrier for preventing its sliding in the first direction, and to disengage from the carrier for its sliding.

  • Patent number: 10542007
Abstract: A method for controlling an operation of an industrial machine that includes authenticating control commands remotely issued by command issuers through a network. The control commands each describe a modifying action to the operation of the industrial machine. The method includes: providing a jump host as a communication buffer between a unit controller of the industrial machine and the network; maintaining within a memory of the jump host whitelisted commands, the whitelisted commands including a list of the approved control commands; receiving, at the jump host, a first control command via the network; determining, at the jump host, whether the first control command is contained within the whitelisted commands; in response to an affirmative determination that the first control command is contained within the whitelisted commands, deeming the first control command as being authenticated; and transmitting the first control command to the unit controller of the industrial machine.

  • Patent number: 10527559
Abstract: An inspection system inspects points of interest on an item. A two-axis gimbal holds the item and is controlled to adjust an angle of incidence and angle of approach of a line of sight of an imaging device with respect to the point of interest. A Y-axis actuator adjusts a position of the imaging device along a Y-axis of the item, and an X-axis actuator adjusts a position of the imaging device along an X-axis of the item. A controller controls the gimbal, the Y-axis actuator and the X-axis actuator. Upon selecting a point of interest, angle of incidence, and angle of approach, the imaging device displays and/or captures an image, and the image can be inspected by a human inspector or automated inspection system.

  • Publication number: 20200003188
Abstract: A method of electricity production using water thermal energy includes compressing an enclosed working fluid at a first vertical position relative to a surface of a body of water to cause the fluid to move to a second vertical position relative to the surface and subsequently move to the first position in a closed loop, an external environment at the second position having a greater temperature than an external environment at the first position such that the fluid transitions between a liquid phase at the first position and a vapor phase at the second position, the compressing using power from a battery, and expanding the fluid at the second position to generate electricity to charge the battery. The first and second positions may be two depths of the body of water or a height of an atmosphere above the body of water and a depth of the body of water.

  • Publication number: 20200003427
Abstract: A cooking appliance includes a housing having a sidewall and a front panel, wherein a heating cavity is defined within the housing. An operable door panel is rotationally coupled proximate the front panel and operable to provide selective access to the heating cavity via an aperture defined within the front panel. A heat source is in thermal communication with the heating cavity and the front panel. A blower is disposed within an interstitial space at least partially defined by an outer surface of the housing. A ventilation tower is attached to the sidewall and positioned proximate the front panel. Selective operation of the blower draws ventilation air from an external region proximate the front panel and into the interstitial space via the ventilation tower.

  • Patent number: 10518764
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to improving the fuel efficiency of autonomous vehicles by operating either (1) at a first effective engine displacement that takes into account noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) when the vehicle is occupied or (2) at a second effective engine displacement, without concern for occupant NVH, when the vehicle is not occupied. The second effective engine displacement is typically more fuel efficient than the first effective engine displacement, but result in a higher level of NVH compared to the first effective engine displacement.

  • Publication number: 20190390857
Abstract: A cooking appliance includes a housing having a heating cavity defined therein, wherein a heat source is in thermal communication with the heating cavity. A cooling channel is disposed proximate a sidewall of the housing. A blower selectively operates to move at least cooling air through the cooling channel and to an air outlet. A vent aperture extends through the sidewall between the heating cavity and a ventilation channel. The ventilation channel includes a narrowed portion proximate the vent aperture, wherein during operation of the blower, the narrowed portion defines a low static pressure region of the ventilation channel that draws cavity air from the heating cavity and directs the cavity air into the ventilation channel to be combined with the cooling air.
