  • Patent number: 12102764
Abstract: A respiratory mask system includes a mask interface and a headgear assembly. The headgear assembly is adjustable and comprised of an elastic portion, a non-elastic portion and a restriction mechanism configured to provide a force resisting movement of the non-elastic portion when the elastic portion is extended. There is a support beam coupled to the non-elastic portion and extending along a portion of the headgear that is curved along its longitudinal extent. In this way particular seal modules can be comfortably fitted to a user and any blow off force is mitigated. A particular example of the respiratory mask system includes provision for removable attachment between the seal and a mask frame, the mask frame and a yoke of the headgear; and between a conduit and the mask frame.

  • Publication number: 20240299683
Abstract: An interface for positive pressure therapy includes a mask assembly, a headgear assembly and a connection port assembly. The mask assembly comprises a seal member that has an upper portion movably connected to an integrated lower portion, wherein the upper portion rolls during hinging movement of the upper portion relative to the lower portion. The headgear assembly allows connection to the mask assembly in a direction substantially normal to a direction of strap tension. The connection port assembly includes a swivel elbow with a valve member that controls flow through a port that opens toward the user.

  • Publication number: 20050229978
Abstract: A check valve has a valve body and flapper. The flapper has a gasket which is sandwiched between a flapper base and a flapper cover. The flapper base has a flapper base stem which extends through an aperture in the gasket is retained within an aperture in the flapper cover. A central recess is defined in either the forward surface of the flapper base or the forward surface of the flapper cover to allow liquid which leaks between the flapper base and the gasket to migrate to the flapper base stem, and subsequently along the flapper base stem to the external side of the flapper cover. In this way, the flapper is capable of relieving pressure build-up between the gasket and the surface of the flapper base.

  • Patent number: 6080105
Abstract: An illuminated retractor provides a handle and a blade, the blade having a forward portion composed of a light transmissive material. The forward portion blade of the extends from handle and is formed suitably for retraction of body tissue adjacent to a body cavity to be illuminated. The handle is manually grippable and houses an electrical power source which powers a lamp mounted in blade. The forward portion of the blade is formed of a light transmissive material in optical communication with the lamp and is formed for the emission of an unfocused and diffused light for general illumination of the cavity. A surface region of the blade body may be frosted or ground so as to widely diffuse light emitted from lamp, thereby illuminating a wide area of a body cavity. A plurality of interchangeable blades of diverse shapes includes a perio-ostial elevator tip and a dental cheek retractor. A blank blade is provided which can easily be customized into a variety of shapes.

  • Patent number: 5657496
Abstract: An adjustable rotating hydrotherapy jet that rotates around primary and secondary rotation axes and includes a housing, a water inlet to the housing, and a water nozzle within the housing that forms water flowing through the inlet into a drive jet. A primary outlet is rotatably mounted on the housing about a primary rotation axis and holds the outlet downstream from the water nozzle to receive the jet flow and discharge the flow along an outlet axis. The jet flow through the primary outlet imparts a turning moment to the outlet, causing it to rotate relative to the primary rotation axis and discharge a first stage jet. A secondary outlet is rotatably mounted on the primary outlet about a secondary rotation axis to receive the jet flow from the primary outlet. The jet flow imparts a turning moment to the secondary outlet that causes it to rotate relative to the secondary rotation axis and discharge a second stage jet.
