  • Patent number: 11672350
Abstract: Various systems and methods relate to an adaptive chair system having (i) a stowed mode in which the members of the chair frame are contained within a compact flexible multi-function bag (MFB), and (ii) a deployed mode in which the MFB is adapted to releasably couple to an arm of the chair to provide a multipurpose accessory chamber. In an illustrative example, the MFB may, for example, fold in on itself in an accessory mode. The MFB may provide various utilities for hikers, for example, by providing a case to receive an inflatable bladder so as to form a pillow. The MFB may receive a thermal liner adapted to maintain, for example, food or beverage temperature. Various embodiments may advantageously provide a rugged, water resistant MFB system in an ultralight form factor that serves as a multipurpose accessory (e.g., to store items), yet provides a compact, adaptive chair frame containment.

  • Patent number: 11666703
Abstract: A biosensor includes an optical circuit that obtains a plurality of photoplethysmography (PPG) signals from light at different wavelengths that is reflected from or transmitted through tissue of a user. A processing circuit determines a measurement value for a nitric oxide (NO) level in blood flow using first and second PPG signals and determines an insulin response from caloric intake using the measurement value for the NO level in blood flow. The first PPG signal is obtained from light at a wavelength having a high absorption coefficient for NO in blood flow and the second PPG signal is obtained from light at a second wavelength having a low absorption coefficient for NO in blood flow. The processing circuit also determines one or more phases of digestion using at least one or more of the plurality of PPG signals.

  • Patent number: 11627823
Abstract: The automated package delivery receptacle provides a faster, easier, more delivery-person friendly, and more reliable method of ensuring that packages delivered to unattended locations are not stolen by porch pirates. The receptacle automatically detects any package that is placed on top of it. As soon as the person who delivered the package has departed, the top surface lifts up above the body of the receptacle, rotates to a vertical position, and drops the package into the interior compartment. The top then reverses its motion and returns to its resting horizontal position, locked and ready for another delivery. The receptacle's mechanism does not encroach at all on the receptable's interior compartment space while cycling. It is powered by a 12-volt automobile type battery connected to a motor controller that is programmed to drive a high-speed linear actuator to complete its open/close cycle in less than twenty seconds.

  • Publication number: 20230059143
Abstract: Digital or analog samples are sent from a video source to a video storage subsystem that encodes the samples into analog levels, stores the analog levels for a period of time, decodes the analog levels back into digital samples and then sends the digital samples to a video sink for display, N samples are encoded into L analog levels for storage. The storage subsystem may be located at the video source, at the video sink, or anywhere in between the two. The storage subsystem may be located on an electromagnetic pathway over which the L encoded analog levels are transmitted from a video source as an analog signal. The L encoded analog levels are written to storage and then later read from storage and retransmitted over the electromagnetic pathway toward a video sink. The storage subsystem may also be integrated with a transmitter that encodes the samples into analog levels for storage or may be integrated with a receiver that stores the analog levels and then decodes the analog levels back into samples.
