  • Patent number: 9628065
Abstract: Example apparatus and methods to remove power from a field device are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a first switch to control power to the field device, and a second switch comprising a first gate and a second gate. The second gate is electrically coupled in parallel to the first gate, and the second switch is electrically coupled in series to the first switch. The example apparatus also includes a first diagnostics controller to control the first and second gates, a first processor to control the first switch, a third switch to control power to the field device, and a fourth switch comprising a third gate and a fourth gate. The fourth gate is electrically coupled in parallel to the third gate, and the fourth switch is electrically coupled in series to the third switch. The example apparatus also includes a second processor to control the third switch, and a second diagnostics controller to control the third and fourth gates.

  • Publication number: 20050042335
Abstract: The present invention is an edible nutritional food in the form of an integral, self-sustaining body within a dosage package. The invention comprises a sugar-based sweetening ingredient, a quantity of oil and/or fat, a quantity of a supplement mixed with said sweetening ingredient and oil and/or fat, and a dosage package. The supplement comprises an ingredient selected from the group consisting of proteins, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, nutraceuticals and other nutrients. This ingredient is supplied in a measured proportion. The dosage package contains a metered amount of the supplement mixed with said sweetening ingredient and oil and/or fat. The amount of supplement is sufficient to provide a predetermined measured dose of said supplement. The dosage package comprises a container with moisture barrier qualities. The dosage package is filled with the metered amount, which conforms to the shape of the container. The container is sealed with a removable moisture barrier.

  • Patent number: 4557786
Abstract: A scanner assembly for scanning labels for the presence of control marks as the labels are being fed to the labelling head of a labelling machine, the scanner assembly including a cross shaft rotatably supported on the labelling head below the path of movement of the labels, at least one radially projecting support arm on the cross shaft, the support arm being keyed to the cross shaft for slideable movement axially along the cross shaft to enable the position of the support arm on the cross shaft to be adjusted laterally; the outer end of the support arm being enlarged to provide a surface for supporting and guiding the labels along the path of label movement; a recess of predetermined depth in the support arm surface; a label scanning sensor in the recess for scanning labels as the labels move across the support arm surface to the labelling head; and manually operated gear means for rotating the cross shaft and the supporting arm thereon to enable the point where the sensor scans the labels to be moved along

  • Patent number: 4428794
Abstract: Envelope sealing apparatus employing a deflector to deflect the leading envelope flap out of the normal path through which the envelope moves and into contact with a reversely moving water wheel which wets the flap to activate adhesive thereon. The inherent rigidity of the envelope proper is relied on to thereafter force the deflector aside, permitting the envelope proper to pass the water wheel without contacting the same. As the envelope continues along the path, a diverter causes the deflected envelope flap to curl under and as the envelope passes thereby, forces in cooperation with the water wheel the envelope flap into closing relationship with the envelope. A downstream sealing roller completes closing and sealing of the envelope.

  • Patent number: 4254574
Abstract: There is disclosed a hollow form building block useful for toys as a constructional block for play houses, forts, and the like, which is formed of inexpensive sheet material such as corrugated cardboard. The block element is a hollow-form, polyhedron that is provided with end walls, one of which has a polygonal aperture and the other of which has a coacting polygonal raised rim that is formed by folded tabs cut from the end wall and coacting tabs folded from an underlying end wall. The raised rim coacts with the apertures of other block elements to provide element-to-element interconnecting means and the raised rim also functions to secure the hollow-form block structure of the assembled, folded block element.

  • Patent number: 4043506
Abstract: An injection line system wherein the injection lines for linking an injection pump with associated injection nozzles are coupled together in a predetermined manner to damp operational vibrations. At least one of the lines is provided with a bend so that a section of this line ahead of the bend and leading to its associated nozzle extends in a direction so as to oppose the flow path in a section of at least another one of the lines, the two sections being coupled together by means which damp operational vibrations.
