  • Patent number: 11924997
Abstract: A cold plate apparatus is disclosed. A cold plate includes a first set of sinusoidal conduits and a second set of sinusoidal conduits formed therein. The first set of sinusoidal conduits is arranged in a first direction, and the second set of sinusoidal conduits is arranged in a second direction. Crests of the first set of sinusoidal conduits overlap troughs of the second set of sinusoidal conduits. Crests of the second set of sinusoidal conduits overlap troughs of the first set of sinusoidal conduits. A first set of header plates is fluidically coupled to the first set of sinusoidal conduits, and a second set of header plates is fluidically coupled to the second set of sinusoidal conduits.

  • Patent number: 5709539
Abstract: A peristaltic pump comprises a rotatable drum 2 having rollers 5 or cams 5' for squashing a flexible tube 9 against a profiled surface 10 of a presser plate 7. Tube 9 is mounted between supports 14 and 15 on presser plate 7 and is automatically movable between an inoperative and operative (pumping) position by pivotal movement of plate 7 about axis 8 produced by an electro mechanical actuator. A flexible membrane 33 is sandwiched between rollers 5 or cams 5' for eliminating shear forces on the tube 9. The construction of the pump and shape of profile 10 are such as to mimimise pulsations in the output flow. Systems for supplying a sample for analysis to spectroscopic apparatus using the peristaltic pump are also described.

  • Patent number: 4776393
Abstract: Perforating gun automatic release mechanism wherein the perforating gun is linked to the drilling string by a coupling member. The coupling member includes a plurality of collet fingers, by which said coupling member is attached to the drilling string. The heads of the collet fingers, when inserted into the bottom of the drilling string engage a circumferential groove therein. A slidable locking sleeve, coaxially disposed within the coupling member prevents the inward radial movement necessary for the collet finger heads to disengage the groove. The locking sleeve sits on a slidable piston, which is contained inside the coupling member on top of the explosive charge which detonates the perforating gun. Upon detonation, the resulting shock wave traveling upward pushes the piston and locking sleeve to a position where the collet finger heads are free to disengage the groove, which the weight of the perforating gun then causes, dropping the gun, coupling member and all attachments away from the drilling string.

  • Patent number: 4558219
Abstract: An elongated body member adapted to traverse a well contains a chamber for holding a quantity of a tracer element to be injected into the well. A radially extendable arm is pivotally attached to the body member and is adapted to be extended and retracted by a first drive system within the body member. A nozzle is coupled to the arm with a path of fluid communication provided between the chamber and the nozzle such that a second drive system within the body member may cause the tracer element to traverse such path and be released into the well fluid flow column from a location adjacent to the body member and preferably to be released in a generally longitudinal direction relative to the well. One or more detectors within the body member suitable for detecting the tracer element are utilized to determine the locations and/or flow velocity of the tracer element and therefore of the well fluid.
