  • Patent number: 10441323
Abstract: Technologies are generally provided for devices, systems, and methods to provide spinal fixation, spinal stabilization, and/or spinal fusion. Example devices may include a first end and a second end with a middle portion extending between the first and second end. The first end may be configured to be in contact with a portion of a first or upper vertebra and the second end may be configured to be in contact with a portion of a second or lower vertebra in an adjacent vertebral pair. Portions of the vertebra which may be in contact with the device may include lamina, processes, vertebral bodies, and facet joints. The example devices may include bone engagement features, such as screws or similar fasteners, to enhance stabilization and fixation when in contact with the vertebrae. • Patent number: 10398921
Abstract: A resilient rod that provides adjustable directional resistance is disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, a resistance level may be determined based on a thickness of the rod and a position of an applied force with respect to a fulcrum point. In another aspect of the invention, at least one spine may be attached to the beam to increase a diameter of the beam along one axis. A resistance level may be determined based on a thickness of the rod, a position of an applied force and an orientation of the at least one spine with regard to the direction of the applied force. In other aspects of the invention, the resilient rods may be incorporated into various equipment that provide for adjustable resistance levels. In still other aspects of the invention, the resilient rod may be incorporated into medical devices that provide adjustable support for injured limbs or joints.

  • Patent number: 10306047
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide an intuitive way for a first electronic device (e.g., a head unit) to request context information from a second electronic device (e.g., a phone or tablet), and to store the context information in association with an affordance (e.g., such as a physical or virtual button on the head unit) so that the context can be later recalled in response to input on the affordance.

  • Publication number: 20180221530
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for deodorization of steam from a waste treatment autoclave. A system includes an autoclave for sterilization of waste, the autoclave being fluidly linked or coupled to a bottom portion of a condensate tank to enable flow of steam from the autoclave to the condensate tank, and a deodorization tank containing a liquid deodorant. An upper portion of the condensate tank is fluidly linked or coupled to a bottom portion of the deodorization tank to enable steam/air from the condensate tank to bubble through the liquid deodorant and exit from a vent located on a top of the deodorization tank.

  • Patent number: 8959613
Abstract: A system for managing access to resources in a plurality of servers by a plurality of client computers by using an operating system independent Secure Shell (SSH) protocol running in each server and using a central policy database that centrally stores access rules which specify access to the servers for a plurality of users/accounts. Each time a target server receives a user request to establish an SSH session, it retrieves associated access rules from the central policy database to obtain the latest access rules. Based on the retrieved rules and the identity of the user and the identity of the client computer, the target server determines whether the user has permission to establish the SSH session with the target server. Using a centralized database and requiring the servers to always retrieve the latest access rules from a central database provides consistent application of the access rules across all servers and all client computers.
