  • Publication number: 20200282397
Abstract: The invention relates to a microfabricated valve (10), comprising a first channel (11), a second channel (12) and a connection channel (13). The connection channel (13) connects the first channel (11) and the second channel (12). The microfabricated valve further comprises a valve portion (14) arranged within the connection channel (13), wherein the valve portion (14) is adapted to selectively open and close the connection channel (13). Moreover the invention relates to a method comprising the steps: inserting the first channel (11) into the first layer (21), inserting the second channel (12) into the third layer (23), inserting the connection channel (13) with the valve portion (14) into the second layer (22), and then arranging the second layer (22) between the first layer (21) and the third layer (23). The invention relates furthermore to a test device, in particular for a biological application and in particular a method for performing a biological test cycle.

  • Patent number: 4825206
Abstract: An automatic feedback mechanism in a communications network having dynamic routing. The invention detects the failure of an element in a route that is either in the process of being created or has been created and is being used. The invention provides a means for sending information as to the failure of the element back to the node originating the communication and, if the route had been established, to the destination node as well. The information sent back is used to update the network topology data base of the receiving node for subsequent route creation decisions by that node. In this way, proliferation of status messages in a communications network is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4677588
Abstract: A facility called "Gateway" is used to interconnect a plurality of independently controlled communication networks so that logical units (LUs) in the networks can communicate with one another without any changes to the network. The gateway includes a programmable device or devices which establish and monitor cross network sessions and for each formatted message, on the session, the programmable device changes the contents on the request unit (RU) and/or the transmission header (TH) fields so that data is delivered to a target LU. The changes include address translation within the TH field, and/or address and name translation within the RU field.

  • Patent number: 3962765
Abstract: A bulb assembly, including a faceplate panel portion and a mount assembly, comprising a stem and a multi-beam electron gun assembly, are positioned in axial alignment on respective central longitudinal axes. A reference plane which contains the central longitudinal axis of the bulb assembly and is parallel to a plurality of parallel phosphor lines disposed on one surface of the faceplate panel portion, is established. An orientation plane is then defined with reference to the structure of the electron gun assembly. The orientation plane contains the central longitudinal axis of the mount assembly and two reference points on the structure of the electron gun assembly and passes through the in-line electron beam apertures.

  • Patent number: 3962764
Abstract: A bulb assembly, including a faceplate panel portion, and a mount assembly, comprising a stem and a multi-beam electron gun assembly, are positioned in axial alignment on respective central longitudinal axes. A reference plane which contains the central longitudinal axis of the bulb assembly and a major axis of the panel portion, is established. An orientation plane is then defined with reference to the structure of the electron gun assembly. The orientation plane is parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the mount assembly and includes two reference points on the structures of the electron gun assembly. The mount assembly is then rotated with respect to the bulb assembly on the coincident longitudinal axes until the orientation plane is at a prescribed angle with respect to the reference plane as optically indicated by the relative position of the two reference points with respect to each other.
