    Abstract: Arrangements for automatically authenticating a user based on a signals-based footprint of the user are provided. In some examples, an authentication device may continuously scan a predefined area surrounding the authentication device. Upon detecting a user device, a determination may be made as to whether the device is detected for at least a threshold amount of time. If so, user data may be requested. In some examples, the user data may be requested from, for example, a mobile device of a user and may include biometric signature data, such as heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and the like. User response data may be received and compared to pre-stored data and, if the user response data meets or exceeds a threshold confidence level, the user may be automatically authenticated. If not, additional user authentication information, such as a username and password, personal identification number (PIN), or the like, may be requested to authenticate the user.

    Abstract: A method of operating a skew detection system, configured for detecting skew in a control surface of one of wings of an aircraft, includes receiving an inboard signal from an inboard sensor and receiving an outboard signal from an outboard sensor. The inboard and outboard sensors have lines of sight intersecting toothed surfaces of gears of the inboard and outboard gears. Inboard distance and outboard distance travelled by the inboard and the outboard tracks respectively are determined using the inboard and outboard signals from the inboard and the outboard sensors. One of the inboard and the outboard distances is compared with a reference value. An alert indicative of an adverse situation is emitted if the one of the inboard and the outboard distances is different than the reference value.

For example, in some types of services, a cleaning agent may be introduced into the intake and surrounding regions of an engine, and the engine may be revved to reduce a likelihood that the cleaning agent might puddle. In some instances, a device can be positioned within a vehicle interior and can be used to automatically rev the vehicle engine by depressing on the vehicle throttle. In other examples, an engine revving device may send a signal to an electronic-controlled throttle actuator.

    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for forming vias for integrated circuit structures. During an additive via formation process, a dielectric material is deposited, an etch stop layer is deposited, a checkerboard pattern is deposited on the etch stop layer, regions in the checkerboard pattern are removed where it is desired to have vias, openings are etched in the dielectric material through the removed regions, and the openings are filled with a first via material. This is then repeated for a second via material. During the subtractive via formation process, a first via material is deposited, an etch stop layer is deposited, a checkerboard pattern is deposited on the etch stop layer, regions in the checkerboard pattern are removed where it is not desired to have vias, openings are etched in the first via material through the removed regions. This is then repeated for a second via material.
