  • Patent number: 6012716
Abstract: A number picker for placing bets in lotteries and a method for manufacturing the number picker. The number picker is comprised of a platform having an upper space for storing small thin circular disks, and a lower space for storing a business card and/or advertising material; an upper cover for enclosing the disks, a lower case for enclosing the business card and/or advertising material and a chain for carrying keys. One characteristic of the lottery number picker is that each of the disks has identical numbers on parallel upper and lower faces. Another characteristic feature of the invention is that the numbered disks are randomly installed in the platform. A third characteristic feature is that the business card and/or advertising material are installed after the lower cover is attached to the platform.

  • Patent number: 5803454
Abstract: A reversible beverage coaster and lottery number picker having an opaque base, transparent covers attached to upper and lower portions of the base and a plurality of small disks in upper and lower cavities of the base. In the upper and lower cavities are traps for capturing some of the disks. The number of disks which can be captured by the traps is related to the lengths of the traps. The center portions of the transparent covers are depressed for supporting beverage glasses. Each of the disks has a number marked on opposite circular faces. Lottery numbers are generated by agitating the coaster to randomly position the disks inside of the coaster and then rotating the coaster to capture disks in the traps.

  • Patent number: 5522591
Abstract: A lottery number picker which is supplied to a purchaser in disassembled form as a kit for picking numbers for daily and weekly lotteries comprising: a base having a cavity, a trap in the cavity for capturing thin cylindrical disks which are stored in the cavity; a plurality of thin cylindrical disks for loading into the cavity; and a transparent cover for viewing disks in the cavity. During an assembly of the kit by a purchaser, a selected number of disks which correspond to a purchaser's lottery are loaded into the cavity, excess disks are discarded and the cover is attached to the base. The disks are marked with numbers which correspond to the numbers from which the purchaser must choose in the purchaser's daily or weekly lottery.

  • Patent number: 5507492
Abstract: A case for cards, keys and numbered disks comprising a platform, a set of numbered disks stored in the platform, an open ended trap in the platform for capturing some of the numbered disks corresponding to a lottery number, a transparent cover on opposite sides of the platform for viewing the disks and cards stored in the case, and a chain for carrying keys. A characterizing feature of the invention is that multiple traps are provided for picking daily and weekly lottery numbers. A second characterizing feature of the invention is that the traps allow easy entry of disks and impede a flow of disks out of the traps.

  • Patent number: 5473306
Abstract: A motor vehicle lighting system for automatically turning headlights on when a transmission is shifted from neutral or park to forward or reverse, reducing electrical loads on batteries during vehicle start-ups and automatically resetting headlights from high beam to low beam. The lighting system also includes indicators to remind drivers, while driving, that their headlight high beams, turn signals or emergency signals are turned on. The lighting system is comprised of an electronic control unit and a reset circuit. The electronic control unit receives signals from the vehicle's ignition switch and a transmission gear sensing device to control the flow of current to the exterior lighting systems. The reset circuit latches when the headlights are switched to high beam and unlatches to switch the circuits back to low beam when the vehicle is stopped and the ignition switch is turned off.

  • Patent number: 5454567
Abstract: A case for cards, keys and numbered disks and for randomly picking lottery numbers. The case is comprised of a platform having a first space for storing a card and disks and a second space for storing a card; a plurality of thin numbered disks stored in the first space; a transparent cover attached to a top and a bottom of the platform for viewing and enclosing the card and disks in the spaces and a chain attached to end portions of the covers for carrying keys. One characterizing feature of the invention is a trap which permits the numbered disks to easily enter but impedes disks inside the trap from leaving the trap. Another characterizing feature is that cards can be placed in the case without disassembly of the case.

  • Patent number: 5358245
Abstract: A number picker for randomly picking lottery numbers comprising: a base having a pair of cavities, an open ended trap in each cavity for capturing thin cylindrical disks; a plurality of thin cylindrical disks inside of each cavity for capturing some of the disks; and a pair of transparent covers for viewing the disks inside the cavities. Each trap has an outer wall and an inner wall spaced apart from the outer wall and an end portion of its inner wall is hook-shaped and extends outwardly toward its outer wall to resist disks from leaving the trap. The outer walls of the traps are joined to the cavities' outer walls by ramps. When the lottery number picker is rotated, disks pile up at the entrances to the traps, move up the ramps and fill the traps.

  • Patent number: 5347261
Abstract: A "hands free" vehicle signal system for requesting drivers to dim their vehicles' bright headlights. One front and two rear signal lights are mounted on the exterior of a vehicle and when activated flash "on" and "off" in high intensity patterns. "Hands free" operation of the signalling system is accomplished by a spoken word or automatically by front and rear mounted photocells. The front and rear signal lights can be operated individually or concurrently. In the first aspect of the invention, the front and rear signal lights transmit "on and off" beams of the same intensity. In a second aspect of the invention the front and rear signal lights transmit alternating patterns of high and low intensity flashing beams. In a first operating mode, the pair of rear signal lights alternately flash "on" and "off" . In a second operating mode the pair of rear signal lights concurrently flash "on" and "off" to transmit a "thank you" message to a driver after he has dimmed his vehicle's bright headlights.

  • Patent number: 5280269
Abstract: A motor vehicle high beam indicator comprising a flashing light and/or audible signal generator to inform a driver that his headlight high beams are turned on. The flashing light and audible signal ar automatically activated when the high beams are turned on and automatically deactivated when the headlights are switched to the low beam operating mode or turned off. The flashing light may also be switched to a non-flashing operating mode and the audible signal deactivated separately with a driver control. If the headlights are turned off in the high beam operating mode, the high beam indicator system automatically resets itself irrespective of whether the indicator system has been deactivated with the driver control.
