Abstract: A system for recording information relating to a vehicle is described. The system includes a processor for controlling recording of the information; a sensor connected to the processor for obtaining sensed information relating to the vehicle; a motion detector connected to the processor for obtaining acceleration information relating to motion of the vehicle; and a memory connected to the processor for recording information, including the sensed information and the acceleration information. The processor controls starting the recording of the information to the memory on the basis of the acceleration information. A method of operating the system is also described.
