  • Patent number: 10912687
Abstract: The embodiments described and claimed herein are a restraint system for securing a gurney in a vehicle. In one embodiment, a conventional antler and rail-type gurney restraint system is improved by the addition of a center latch restraint that engages with a latch member secured by a support bracket to the underside of the gurney. In one configuration, the latch member enters into engagement with the center latch restraint through lateral movement of the control end of the gurney. In that respect, the EMT may use the same autonomic movements used with the conventional antler and rail-type system to secure the gurney in the vehicle. Optionally, one or more of the gurney occupant restraint belts are directly connected to the support bracket, whereby occupant loads during an accident will bypass the gurney and occupant head excursions can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 10907413
Abstract: A drill bit comprises a first and a second body received within the first body. Each of the first body and second body has a respective crown, each crown having an inner and an outer operative circumference. The outer operative circumference of the second body and the inner operative circumference of the first body can define a first volume that can receive a tubular core sample. The second body can define a break surface that breaks the tubular core sample into core pieces. The drill bit can be employed in a borehole with a reverse circulation system that pumps fluid around an outer surface of the bit, and returning fluid can carry the core pieces out of the borehole.

  • Patent number: 10891333
Abstract: A first connection state may be entered on a computing device. While the computing device is in the first connection state, actions taken on a playlist on the computing device may be applied to the playlist and not applied to a playback queue associated with a zone. An input may be received via the computing device, indicating a selection of the zone. In response to receiving the input, a second connection state may be entered. Entering the second connection state may comprise establishing a connected state between the computing device and the one or more playback devices. While the connected state is established, one or more actions taken on the playlist on the computing device may be applied to the playlist and transmitted, in a message to the zone over a network. The one or more actions may be one or more corresponding actions applied to the playback queue.

  • Publication number: 20200368350
Abstract: Provided herein are combinations of therapies that provide for the treatment, including regression, of atherosclerosis and/or improvement of cardiovascular outcomes. Generally described, this includes a first, non-PCSK9 LDL-C lowering agent (such as a statin or other non-PCSK9 LDL-C lowering therapy), combined with a second, PCSK9 inhibitor therapy (such as a PCSK9 antibody or anti-RNA). The application of both therapies, at adequately elevated levels so as to reduce the LDL-C level of the subject to very low levels, for an adequate period of time, has been determined to provide an added benefit of further protection from atherosclerosis and improve a subject's cardiovascular outcomes.

  • Patent number: 10834021
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for managing access to shared computing resources in a computing system which include representing resources as objects and managing access to those objects using the construct of a resource instance manager. A set of resource instance managers responds to all commands requesting access to a set of respective shared resources. Access to each shared resource is managed by a unique resource instance manager for that resource which maintains a consistent state for that shared resource. Each resource instance manager determines, in response to receiving requests to allow execution of commands and using a set of predefined rues, whether those commands may be safely executed concurrently with other commands acting on the same shared resource. If the commands cannot be executed concurrently, the resource instance managers change the order in which queued commands are executed or abort execution of one or more commands.
