  • Publication number: 20220040038
Abstract: A strengthened glass container or vessel such as, but not limited to, vials for holding pharmaceutical products or vaccines in a hermetic and/or sterile state. The strengthened glass container undergoes a strengthening process that produces compression at the surface and tension within the container wall. The strengthening process is designed such that the tension within the wall is great enough to ensure catastrophic failure of the container, thus rendering the product unusable, should sterility be compromised by a through-wall crack. The tension is greater than a threshold central tension, above which catastrophic failure of the container is guaranteed, thus eliminating any potential for violation of pharmaceutical integrity.

  • Publication number: 20220043274
Abstract: A first light source with a first etendue generates a first light beam to travel along a first optical path having an expanded portion formed by a collector optical system. A second light source having a second etendue less than one tenth of the first etendue forms second light, which is conducted by a light guide having a distal section with an end face. The second light is emitted from the end face as a second light beam that travels over a second optical path that resides within the expanded portion of the first optical path due to the light guide being disposed relative to the first optical path from an off-axis direction. An optical condenser receives and directs the first and second light beams to a common exit plane to form the combined light beam.

  • Publication number: 20210370942
Abstract: A method for shifting a transmission in a machine. The method includes detecting a request for a directional shift of the transmission and determining a ground speed of the machine in response to the request. The method further includes overriding the request if the ground speed is above a ground speed threshold. Further, the method includes preparing the machine for the directional shift by limiting an output speed of a power source of the machine and by issuing a command to a brake unit of the machine to reduce the ground speed of the machine. Furthermore, the method includes validating and raising the request to the transmission to execute the directional shift if the ground speed is below the ground speed threshold.

  • Patent number: 11138618
Abstract: Technologies are disclosed herein for optimizing in-application purchase (IAP) items to achieve a developer-specified success metric. Application developers can define customer segments and a success metric for each segment. In-application purchase items (IAP) for an application can be tuned for each customer segment in an attempt to achieve the defined success metric. The disclosed techniques can automatically determine the most compelling combination of attributes for an IAP item, such as item price, behavior, definition, and timing. Based on contextual information received from a number of resources, such as an application store, an e-commerce system, and a user device, an optimization service can modify attributes of the IAP items for users in the customer segment to achieve the developer-specified success metrics.

  • Publication number: 20210292215
Abstract: A method of making a glass sheet comprises laminating a high CTE core glass to a low CTE clad glass at high temperatures and allowing the laminate to cool creating compressive stress in the clad glass, and then ion exchanging the laminate to increase the compressive stress in the outer near surface regions of the clad glass. The core glass may include ions that exchange with ion in the clad glass to increase the compressive stress in inner surface regions of the clad glass adjacent to the clad glass/core glass interfaces. The glass laminate may be formed and laminated using a fusion forming and laminating process and fusion formable and ion exchangeable glass compositions.
