  • Publication number: 20030008778
Abstract: Permeable subterranean underground formations and fractures can be sealed using lost circulating material fluids having borate and metallic crosslinked polysaccharide gels that are crosslink in the well bore. Compositions and methods are illustrated whereby lost circulation material solids can be mixed in a mixing tank on the surface with a crosslinkable polysaccharide and a crosslinking agent under conditions whereby the lost circulating material fluid can be pumped into the well bore before undergoing gelation. Once the lost circulation material fluid equilibrates to the reservoir temperature the polysaccharide component of the lost circulation material fluid will crosslink.

Abstract: The present invention relates to sheet materials suitable for use in or as a floor covering. The sheet materials comprise a polyalkene resin in intimate admixture with at least one additive comprising a filler, wherein the polyalkene resin has a relatively narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD) and, a small amount of long chain branching and produced by a single site catalysed polymerisation of at least one, linear, branched or cyclic, alkene having from 2 to 20 carbon atoms. • Patent number: 6284719
Abstract: A two-pack system for the preparation of peracid compositions for the disinfection, cleaning, and protection of cow's teats before and after milking. A first component of the product comprises an aqueous equilibrated solution of a lower aliphatic peracid and a second component comprises an aqueous solution containing an emollient, food grade fragrance, food grade dye, food grade thickening agent, and alkali buffer. The two packs can be mixed to produce a consistent solution of known quality for reducing disease on cow's teats that is nonirritant, has low odor and/or contains a food grade fragrance and may be colored, thickened, pH buffered, and is effective for at least 24 hours after mixing.

  • Patent number: 6111013
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a plastics product from a polyolefin resin using a plasticizer monomer system which is substantially non-polymerizable under the product shape forming, conditions used in the product manufacturing process and which acts as a plasticizer or processing aid under said shape forming conditions, while being substantially polymerizable subsequently so as to produce a product substantially free of liquid plasticizer. The plasticizer monomer is mixed with the polyolefin resin; and the mixture formed into a desired product form. Polymerization of the plasticizer monomer then provides a final product substantially free of liquid plasticizer.

  • Patent number: 5792446
Abstract: A delivery system for controlled administration of a dentin-hypersensitivity-ameliorating composition to targeted areas is described. In particular, a bio-compatible delivery vehicle is described which contains unreacted, reactive materials dispersed therein. These materials form a dentin-hypersensitivity-ameliorating composition when reacted. Furthermore, these materials are separately encapsulated within protective encapsulating matrices to prevent the reaction thereof until delivery of the materials to a dentinal surface.

  • Patent number: 5704187
Abstract: A hollow, tapered, fiber-reinforced plastic utility pole, and a method for making the pole. The pole is designed by a computer-modelling technique that simulates applying resin-coated, reinforcing strands over the outer surface of a mandrel. A plurality of test stations are incrementally spaced from the tip portion to the butt portion of the pole simulated on the mandrel. The thickness-to-diameter ratio must be equal to or greater than an established constant at each station or additional circuits of resin-coated, reinforcing strands deemed to have been applied, as required. One then calculates the stress resistance at each successive station to determine if the acceptable stress is greater than the stress resistance required. Whatever additional circuits of resin-coated, reinforcing strands are necessary are then deemed to have been applied.
