  • Patent number: 4998249
Abstract: A method for multiplexing data between a set of line circuits and a set of time division multiplexed highway lines connected to a central switch. Line circuits are organized into clusters of fixed numbers of circuits. Groups of four clusters send data to and receive data from a single multiplexer/demultiplexer. One or more multiplexers may be connected to the same set of highways. A single master processor performs all of the highway and time slot assignments for the network. These assignments are made so that each cluster will transmit or receive during consecutive time slots on a single highway line. The multiplexer is capable of providing conductivity between any cluster and any of the highways. The highway and time slot assignments for each cluster may be altered by reprogramming the multiplexer.

  • Patent number: 4897782
Abstract: A file sharing system, comprising a file access processor and a plurality of application support processors; and the file access processor, in turn, includes a central data access system and a storage system is provided to form directories from data in the database, and to change data in that database. Each support processor includes a local cache to acquire and hold directories formed by the data access system; and for each directory acquired by at least one support processor, the data access system further includes a directory gate and a multitude of directory change blocks holding information describing changes in the database that affect the directory. The directory change blocks established for a given directory are arranged in a first chain anchored to the directory gate established for the directory. For each support processor that has acquired at least one directory, the data access system further includes a directory acquired block for each directory acquired by the support processor.

  • Patent number: 4888681
Abstract: A Space Management System for a Data Access System of a File Access Processor for servicing requests from a set of Application Support Processors, which can exist in a global network, with each Application Support Processor sharing access to data in files stored by the File access Processor. The File Access Processor manages access to a set of data files and information about files held in file directories, which allow for managing file collections, can relate to each other hierarchically, and may be shared. Each Application Support Processor also maintains therein an internal cache of file information to improve performance by reducing communications required with the File Access Processor for informatin about files. The File Access Processor provides the Application Support Processors with information for updating and maintenance of local caches of directory and file description information through a centralized accumulation and distribution of cache change notifications.

  • Patent number: 4681769
Abstract: A process is provided for preparing a naturally flavored and colored oleresin spice edible oil extract by contacting ground spice with fortified edible oil to extract flavor and color from the spice followed by pressure separation and blending the extracted spice residue with fresh oil to form a fortified oil containing spice color and flavor for recycling in the extraction process.

  • Patent number: 4170248
Abstract: A sewer pipe is repaired by inserting a thin, flexible liner within the sewer pipe. The liner has an outer diameter less than the inner diameter of the sewer pipe, whereby an annular space is presented between the liner and the sewer pipe. This annular space is filled with a low viscosity magnesium based cement, such as magnesium oxychloride cement or magnesium oxysulfate cement, which has a maximum Marsh funnel viscosity of 40 seconds per quart.
