  • Patent number: 11957577
Abstract: Embodiments of delivery systems, devices and methods for delivering a prosthetic heart valve device to a heart chamber for expanded implementation are disclosed. More specifically, methods, systems and devices are disclosed for delivering a self-expanding prosthetic mitral valve device to the left atrium, with no engagement of the left ventricle, the native mitral valve leaflets or the annular tissue downstream of the upper annular surface during delivery, and in some embodiments with no engagement of the ventricle, mitral valve leaflets and/or annular tissue located downstream of the upper annular surface by the delivered, positioned and expanded prosthetic mitral valve device.

  • Patent number: 4249487
Abstract: A rotary internal combustion engine is provided with a central housing having a plurality of cylinders radially disposed around the housing. The cylinders are disposed about the housing such that reciprocal movement of pistons inside of the cylinders results from rotational movement of the central housing about a stationary center axis, so that the pistons are not brought to an instantaneous stop at a point in their cycle at which a 180.degree. change in direction occurs. By not having to overcome such inertial forces, a substantial increase in energy output is achieved. The rotating housing is mounted on supports to stabilize the engine and transmit rotational movement to a driven device. The exhaust output of the individual cylinders is directed outwardly to provide additional torque in the form of a jet action.

  • Patent number: 3997012
Abstract: A device for converting a constant rotational input into a rotational output which is proportional to a separate input signal characterized by first and second members each having a surface of revolution about an axis with the surface of at least one of the members having an axially changing diameter and the first and second members being mounted for rotation with their surfaces adjacent one another, means for rotating the first member, a transfer device including a pair of rollers mounted for rotation in a plane of rotation for engaging the surfaces of the first and second members and for transmitting rotation of the first member to the second member, the transfer means is connected to a supporting device by a pivot connection having a pivot axis lying in the plane of rotation, and a device for shifting the transfer device along the axis of one of the first and second members to vary the rate of rotation of the second member.
