  • Publication number: 20150123421
Abstract: A modular cover system for a vehicle cargo bed includes a cover support frame mountable to the front wall and sidewalls of the cargo bed, a plurality of modular cover panels, and a seal configured for installation over a perimeter margin of the cover panels and the front, rear and sidewalls of the vehicle bed. Each panel is bounded by a rail, configured to include a forwardly projecting tongue and a corresponding groove at the rear. The panel rails provide sufficient support to permit removal of selected adjacent panels to provide open spaces for tall cargo. Each panel includes a latch operable to selectively secure the panel to the side bed rails or release the panel from the side bed rails, thereby enabling a user to selectively release one or more panels from the cover system.

  • Patent number: 6497445
Abstract: A substantially rigid tonneau cover is provided which is hingedly connectable to a truck bed and moveable between open and closed positions. A latch mechanism mounted on the interior surface of the cover is selectively engagable with the truck bed to secure the cover in the closed position. A latch release handle is mounted in a recessed compartment formed on the exterior surface of the cover and is connected to the latch mechanism. A hatch is connected to the cover proximate the latch handle and is moveable between a hatch open position and a hatch closed position. In the hatch closed position the hatch covers the recessed compartment and the latch release handle mounted therein. The hatch is preferably mounted such that in the hatch closed position the exterior surface of the hatch is generally flush with exterior surface of the cover and conforms to the contour of the cover.

  • Patent number: 6150498
Abstract: Methods for devolatilizing polymer solutions have been invented which include, in certain aspects, dissolving a viscous polymer in a solvent forming a polymer-solvent solution, introducing the polymer-solvent solution into a thermal dryer, heating or cooling the polymer-solvent solution in the thermal dryer forming product polymer with solvent removed and separated solvent (which may include other residuals), the separated solvent with other residuals if present vaporizing in the thermal dryer forming a vapor, removing the vapor from the thermal dryer, and discharging product polymer from the thermal dryer.

  • Patent number: 5954382
Abstract: A trimpiece for a pickup truck tailgate includes a base for mounting on an upper/outer edge of the tailgate and a lip projecting upwardly from the base. The base and the lip form a shoulder located above the base and behind the lip with the tailgate in its closed position. The lip is adapted to interlock with a rear flange of a tonneau cover mounted on the pickup truck bed. With the tonneau cover and the tailgate in their closed positions, the tonneau cover rear flange is received in the shoulder and interlocks with the trimpiece lip for securing the tailgate in its closed position. The tonneau cover and the tailgate in their closed positions thus provide a secure enclosure for the pickup truck bed and its contents.
