  • Patent number: 5213124
Abstract: A pressure actuated valve having a diaphragm assembly for receiving any one of a plurality of interchangeable restrictor elements of varying passageway diameter for changing the rate of valve closure and for servicing clogged passageways is disclosed. The valve employs a restrictor element having a selected inlet port diameter with a metering pin slidably mounted therethrough. The diaphragm assembly provides a slidable mounting for the restrictor element to enhance the cleaning action of the metering pin. A method of adjusting the rate of valve closure and servicing clogged or worn restricted inlet ports in such valves is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4913351
Abstract: A sprinkler head having a readily accessible top plug which can be removed and replaced by a pressure-reading gauge that is in fluid communication with the head's interior pressure. Each individual sprinkler head includes a manually-adjustable pressure adjusting screw which is accessible at an exposed location for the installed sprinkler head. Pressure adjustment for an individual head, while it is operating in either a manual or an automatic mode, is available. After individual pressure adjustment for a sprinkler head has been performed the gauge is removed and the plug is replaced for normal sprinkler operation.

  • Patent number: 4522339
Abstract: An irrigation fitting cooperable with a tool to penetrate the wall of an irrigation conduit comprising a body having a flow passage therein opening at a first location adjacent one end of the body and at a second location spaced from the first location. One end of the body is shaped to form a piercing point for penetrating the wall of the irrigation conduit. A shoulder is provided on the body intermediate the first and second locations and facing in a direction so that a tool can act against the shoulder to force the piercing point to penetrate the wall of the irrigation conduit. Orienting surfaces are provided on the body adjacent the shoulder for cooperating with the tool to orient the irrigation fitting relative to the tool.

  • Patent number: 4480856
Abstract: A coupling for flexible conduit of irregular configuration having an inner member adapted to be at least partially received within the flexible conduit. The inner member has a first conical surface. A locking member is retained on the inner member and is provided with a second conical surface which tapers radially inwardly and terminates in substantially a knife edge. When the inner member is received within the flexible conduit, the locking member may be moved such that the flexible conduit is squeezed between the knife edge and the first conical surface to seal the coupling to the conduit.

  • Patent number: 3957205
Abstract: A sprinkler having a sprinkler head fixed to a tubular spindle which is rotatably journaled in and spring biased upwardly relative to a bearing sleeve, and improved upper and lower seals for sealing the clearance space between the spindle and bearing sleeve against entrance of water, dirt, grit and the like. The upper seal includes a seal ring which is yieldably retained by the spring in sealing force on the sprinkler head and has a depending annular flexible sealing lip surrounding and engaging a circumferential sealing surface on the bearing sleeve in such a way that if the spindle pressed downwardly through the bearing sleeve against spring action, the seal ring wipes or scrapes dirt and grit from the sealing surface to prevent jamming of the seal ring on the bearing sleeve during upward spring return of the spindle.

  • Patent number: 3937870
Abstract: A device intended to receive two or more electrical conductors of the same or dissimilar size and to provide mechanical protection and electrical insulation for the electrical connection of said conductors, including a container for receiving the joined ends of the electrical conductors, the device including having side walls, a closed end wall and an open end and a plug member adapted to seal the open end of the casing. Passages are provided in the plug end or closed end for the extension therethrough of the electrical conductors. Cooperating locking means are provided on the plug and the casing member for mechanically interlocking the plug end casing and radial flaps are disposed in the passages which are deformed by the extension therethrough of the electrical conductor to define a cone shaped collar between the passage wall and the condutor to impede the flow of potting compound out of the device.
